It was easy to install. It probably protects the doorbell from the rain. It also keeps the noonday sun off of the doorbell, but it may not protect from the harsh afternoon sun from the west. The wide view of the doorbell camera will not allow a tight fitting shade. The last Ring doorbell survived the afternoon sun for 3 1/2 years without this shade. We will see about this one.

I am using this cover to protect a Ring doorbell camera from the desert sun. It has held up really well for three years.The plastic is solid.I had to trim the sides so they don't restrict the side view of the camera. It was really easy to make the cuts and then sand the plastic to the shape I wanted.

The cover provides great weather protection. The sides are very deep. I used it for a ring doorbell and it does obstruct my view somewhat but not enough to be an issue. It protects it great from rain and ice. Have had no issues with doorbell since installing the cover. The plastic material was east to screw the mounting screws into. I used double sided gorilla tape to hold it to my keypad box and the tape stuck like a champ to it.
