When taken out of the box, the stick was already broken/not put together correctly. As seen in the picture, it popped fully out of the catches and when tried to put back, it pops out when ever it extends. It falls apart on the slightest pull, also the compass at the bottom immediately fell out of the handle as well. Would not recommend at all.

Seems to be sturdy but the hook fell right out of the socket where it was glued in place. Had to use some expoxy to re-fasten. Not meant for heavy lifting or prying up large pieces of wood to check underneath for snakes. I suppose it could easily handle a five-six foot black rat snake or an adult copperhead/rattler but make sure the telescoping joints are tight otherwise they just fall apart.

Good product. The only issue I’ve had is the lock mechanism on the arms operates the opposite way to the indications on the pole. Apart from that it works well.

First thing out of the package I noticed was its weight. It definitely weighs more then the normal trek pole. Second was its length. It's impressive. I've had it about two weeks now. Still very happy. I use it all day as a wrangler for the film industry. It is a great entry, to mid level hook!

Ok I was really nervous to buy this bc there were several reviews about it not working well or breaking but I bit the bullet. My recommendation is to look up a YouTube video on how to use this brands hook! It helped a lot considering a lot of people claimed it broke after the first extension. I had the same problem as well, but after watching the video, I understand how it works now. I use this on some chonky full size ball pythons and it worked perfectly. Much easier and faster to grab them into their feeding box, instead of me wrangling them in a pillow case.

The extension makes this item not so sturdy for larger then sub adult boas. Seems that 3500 grams seems to be this products limit before issues.
