Two piece design makes it incredibly dangerous for venomous snakes. The hook got loose when I was trying to pick up a Southern Pacific rattlesnake. It may as well have been a limp d***.

Love this new snake hook I have had multiple metal shaft ones then I had a old golf club with the carbon fiber shaft I made some 20 years ago I guess I should have patented it and got rich lol. But I love how strong and sturdy it is so i can handle big fat cane breaks and the hook screws on and off so you can replace it. Which is good thing, but the only problem I have with this is the sharp point on the hook. It could be used for a midevel torture device I think I will grind mine down to an angle so I don't hurt any snakes. Just to let you know the sharpness it comes with a 1/2" piece of protective rubber hose to cover the tip.

I brought to use with my Boa. She is about 8Yr old and 6-7 ft in length. Used to bring her out of her cage as she can be spicy at times coming out! Worked great and sturdy for what I needed!!

It's very light, stiff and strong. I used it search under rocks, weeds and dead trees branch piles. Not used on a snake yet, but very confident it will be up to the task based how it performed searching for snakes. Only soonest is make sure the tip screwed on tight and,very good grip, too good sometimes.
