About this item

  • [HUGE TIME SAVERS & PLANTS HELPERS] Remiawy terracotta watering spikes work through osmosis. The porous material prevents the water from pouring out of the bottles when plant watering spikes are inverted, and yet allows the water to seek through slowly. The wetter the soil, the slower the seep.As the soil dries, the water seeps out through plant watering devices. Your plants can be dispensed the appropriate amount of water and no overflow means they won’t lose any soil or nutrients to grow healthier
  • [TIPS TO USE THE plant watering stakes] Soak the self watering stakes, water the soil and dig a hole before placing them into the pot. Drive the plant watering stakes deep into the soil so that the openings are flush with the soil.Stakes should be mostly buried in the soil. When the bottle needs refilling, just lift the empty bottle out, refill the bottle, and hold your finger under the upside down filled bottle as you set it back on top. Do not push the plant watering stakes hard to avoid breakage
  • [CHOICE TO RECYCLE BOTTLE FOR ORGANIC GARDEN] Plant watering stakes for potted plants are designed to work with long-necked bottles, which is what makes wine bottles optimal, however any long necked bottle made of any material should be compatible as long as it fits sturdily into the automatic plant waterers without being too top heavy. For small pots, you can use smaller beer bottles or wine bottles. An good way to recycle bottle and water plants at the same time
  • [GOOD BACKUP SYSTEM FOR YOUR PLANTS] These plant watering spikes for potted plants will give you peace of mind while on vacation. A litre of water works for approximately 7-10 days depending on the types of plants drawing water, soil composition, humidity. For large pot,you can put one plant watering spike by each plant or use a large wine bottle, but be sure to place it in the plant watering system carefully. It is suggested to test the plant watering stick before leaving on vacation
  • [SATISFACTORY AFTER-SALE SERVICE] We will take full responsibility for any self watering spikes found damaged upon arrival or during normal use. If the watering spikes for plants doesn’t work to your entire satisfaction, please let us know. Our customer service executive will be there at your service

How the terracotta watering stakes work?

The plant watering device is made from terracotta clay. The clay stake is porous. When you put the bottle full of water in the stake, it takes a little while for the water to soak through the porous clay. If the dirt around the stake is dry, the water automatically wicks from the clay into the dirt, and the water keeps wicking out into the dirt until the dirt is saturated with water, or until the bottle is empty.

These plant watering spikes for potted plants will give you peace of mind while on vacation. A litre of water works for approximately 7-10 days depending on the types of plants drawing water, soil composition, humidity.

Specification

  • Material: terra cotta
  • The opening diameter(inside): 1.6”
  • The material thickness: 0.24”
  • The length: 7.76”
how to use the watering spikes

(1)Since the terracotta watering spikes are fragile, dig a hole in the soil before pushing the watering spikes into the soil.

(2)Make sure the self watering spikes for plants are deep enough to sit securely. Place the watering spikes self plant in the soil with the open top flush with the soil. The further in the ceramic watering stakes go, the stabler it will be, the more moisture will get to the planting media as a larger surface will be in contact.

(3)Fill long neck bottle with water then flip it over into the self watering spikes terracotta. You can cover the opening of the bottle with your finger when you are turning it upside down. Remember to place the bottle straight upright.

(4)Check the bottle periodically to ensure they still have water. You don’t need to take out the stake, just lift the bottle out and refill the bottle when it is empty.

watering stake

Paired with a few empty wine bottles, these watering spikes provide a slow drip of water straight to the plant's roots. The watering stakes for wine bottles keep the soil constantly moist, letting you off the hook if you forget about watering, or leave for vacation.

Tips:

Soak the plant waterer self watering spikes in water before use.Don’t put too heavy bottle on the ceramic watering spikes unless you have a deep pot or it may cause the pot to tip. For small pot, you can use a smaller bottle.

Some plants may require more water than terracotta spikes can supply in dry and hot summer. You can add some water in addition to what seeps through before leaving.

These REMIAWY Plant Watering Stakes are fantastic! They work perfectly for all my plants, both indoors and outdoors. I used them during a vacation, and my plants stayed healthy and well-watered the entire time. What I love most is how easy it is to use these stakes with old wine bottles. Just fill a bottle with water, attach the stake, and insert it into the soil. The terracotta material slowly releases water, so the plants get just the right amount without overwatering. These stakes are a simple, reliable, and eco-friendly way to keep your plants happy, whether you're home or away. Highly recommended!

I was going on a week vacation and was trying to figure out how to save my precious basil and the flowers that the hummingbirds really like (all in pots). Well, these plant watering stakes really work! I did soak them overnight before adding to the pots as suggested by another reviewer. I was very careful and dug a hole and then gently twister them into the hole.. I wish I knew about these at the beginning of the season. It would be easier to insert at the time of first planting rather than looking for a spot without damaging the mature plant(s). I was careful so no damage, just a little difficult to do. I did continue to water the plants before I left on vacation (as suggested). They came very well packaged in a box with styrofoam (I’m saving it for winter storage.). Next season I will insert the spikes (including a wine bottle or other long neck bottle) first and add the plants around them. I do recommend these not just for vacation, but for use all the time as well. I highly recommend these.

I use these often and give as gifts, they are great at keeping my new plants and transplants from drying out. Easy to slide a recycled wine bottle into, just don’t try (as I did) to fit a larger Sangria bottle into the spike, it’s simply too much weight. These spikes do wear in time but I can easy get two years out of each spike.

I was going to be away from home for a few days, and the temperature was forecast to be in the nineties. I was concerned about my potted flowers, so I purchased these watering stakes. I inserted the stakes into the pots of my plants and filled wine and beer bottles with water. I did soak the stakes before using. (read somewhere to do this) When I returned home, I was delighted to see that my plants were thriving. These watering stakes performed far better than I thought they would. I have seen reviews about them being easily broken or arriving broken. Mine were very well packed and none were broken. I had no issues with breaking while inserting them into the flower pots. Highly recommend these.

Thought this product was a plant watering product itself. Instead it is a holder for a bottle of water that drips Into this container that is planted into the soil.

I purchased these for my potato planters and I bought some used bottles and they naturally feed my plants water as needed. I highly recommend these to any gardener wanting a every other day watering system.

I’ve used the smaller version that uses drinking water bottles but they seemed to empty to soon. I like these because they hold more water and I can see the level as it goes down. I started a fall garden and we’ve had no rain this month so this is a great product to maintain soil moisture. My garden is growing and consistently watered using this product.

Ordered a set of these for my garden. They work awesome with recycled wine bottles. The terracotta allows the water from the bottle to slowly water your plant over a period of about 2-3 weeks. My only complaint is one of them cracked on me. Will notify company to see if they'll send a replacement. I'll update again if they do. Otherwise, I dig them.

I like the fact that I can go away for the weekend and my plants in pots will get watered while I am away. I know it would be better to put the stake into position in new soil or potting mix and then place your seedlings or plants close to the stake. My plants were already established in the pot, but the stakes have done their job. I have ordered two more sets since my first purchase :)

Love these watering spikes. Most of my garden has drip emitters but the potted plants were always a problem if I left for a long weekend/week vacation. This solves my problem. Things to note:1. In attached picture I placed these two toward the front for easy access...but in measuring moisture with my meter The back corners were not as evenly moist. Assume roots will grow toward moisture...but I'll place them closer next time. No variation for those I placed in center.2. Once inserted into soil make sure to compact the soil around spike. On a newly potted plant with a loose soil the wine bottle weight caused it to lean. When I tried to straighten it the side of the spike cracked. Still works fine though.3. Clear glass wine bottle makes it easier to see water level...darker green is more difficult.I plan on buying more for the rest of my potted plants!
