Get in the Ground

Get in the Ground

  1. Hammer the top of your stake’s cap and drive it into the ground, using a rubber mallet. Continue to hammer until the stake is buried and leave the shaft’s top hole exposed. Don’t strike at an angle or with a drip line connected or hammer an uncapped stake.
  2. If you have dense, tough, hard, or compacted soil; pre-soak the planting area and/or use a soil softener to soften the ground before installation. Once the area is well-saturated, hammer your DEEP DRIP Stake into the ground as far as it will go (with stake cap on)
  3. Take the cap off and run water directly into the stake to start softening the soil from below. Repeat the process until you have driven the stake all the way into the ground, leaving the stake’s top hole exposed. Repeat the process until you have driven the stake all the way into the ground, leaving the stake’s top hole exposed
  4. You can also use a 1.25-inch auger bit to pre-drill a hole where you wish to place the stake for even easier installation.

Using a Drip Line

Using a Drip Line

  1. Once driven in the ground, remove your stake's cap
  2. Insert the end of your ¼” drip line down into the stake, with the adjustable emitter head sitting halfway between the shaft’s first and second holes
  3. Place the stake’s caps back over the shaft, securing the drip line in place with the caps slotted drip line hole
  4. As water enters the stake through the drip line, it will deliver water deep underground to the plant’s feeder roots.Ask your local nursery professional for recommendations on watering levels, times, and refill rates specific to your plant’s needs – the more DEEP DRIP Stakes around your plant, the lower the flow and watering time needed.

Using a Hose

Using a Hose

  1. Dig a well around your plant; larger plants will need a larger well and more stakes (follow the stake placement guide for instructions on how many stakes your plant will need)
  2. Inside the plant well, bury stakes, leaving the stake’s cap on and top hole just above ground.
  3. Place your hose on a slow, but steady flow within the well
  4. As the well fills up, water will flow into the top hole of your stake, watering deep down to your plant’s roots.
    1. Ask your local nursery professional for recommendations on watering levels, times, and refill rates specific to your plant’s needs.

I already owned a few of this which I purchase from Home Depot. I needed a few more and was surprised how cheap they were compared to Home Depot price. So I bought them here. They are the exact same product. I will buy again here if ever I will need more.

Purchased for our garden to water our vegetables more efficiently. They were easy to insert in the dirt adjacent to the plant and allows me to water the plant directly and more efficiently. This helps with weed growth since I am not watering the dirt surrounding the plant, only the plant. Saves on weeding and water! Highly recommended!

These work great with my dripper system. Keep the water from running off, water the roots deeper to keep them that way. I use longer ones for trees and shorter ones for shrubs. Works great in our Colorado yard.

This and other drip products will be essential parts of the effort to save water in drought plagued areas. I have them in several sizes and am learning to put the water "where it is needed" instead of everywhere it isn't.Hopefully the price will come down. I'd use these everywhere but for the price. How may thousand dollars of plastic am I willing to bury in my yard?
