These are EPP foam which is closed cell. I used them as sponsons on a 14 foot aluminum boat. These are strong, firm, rigid and don't absorb water. You'll have difficulty in bending it .. heat just melts layers of the foam. Keep in mind, that EPP foam doesn't work with all adhesives. When a label says works with most plastics and foam .. that means it doesn't work with EPP. Don't waste your money on that glue. I tried a newer product advertised on TV that was even applied under water .. here's where its interesting .. it held for 2 or 3 weeks on a pair I glued end to end and let sit in room temperature as an adhesive test .. it seems pretty strong initially but after 2 or 3 weeks it lost its hold and the glue just peeled off. I settled on a 3M product .. black 5200. It held well, a season later (update) all the sponsons are still firmly attached with the 3M 5200. The 5200 has contracted somewhat but the foam is secure .. I will skim coat the 5200 in spring again to prevent water from getting between foam and gunwale. All said, a successful customization .. if I could find similar EPP foam in a somewhat larger profile it would be even better. So the foam became sponsons on my utility boat .. these increase the stability of the boat when walking about on the boat deck. They are out of the water on plane. They also help direct water spray away from inside the boat. I got the idea from a product sold in Australia called a "boat collar". Google it .. it's very interesting seeing the photos and videos of intended performance.

I love this half roller for stretching my calves and achilles tendons before a run. In previous years I used to do that on the stairs, but this house has no stairs. The 18-inch roller (actually 17 3/4 inches) is perfect size for this, big enough for two feet in running shoes. I usually leave the roller by the kitchen sink so I can hold on there and look out the window while I stretch. It's very light, takes up little space, and is very sturdy--tolerates running shoes very well. I guess you could use it for working out cramped muscles and other things, but I got it as a solution to stretching calf muscles since I have no stairs. Terrific roller!

I bought this to do Katy Bowman's calf stretch but have mainly wound up using it upside-down (flat side up) as a combo balance-training device and stepstool at the kitchen sink. Standing on it makes washing dishes, rinsing produce, etc. much easier as well as way more fun: It makes me 3" taller so I can finally reach comfortably--even on 1 leg, cleaning a knife! This roller is sturdy enough for me to balance on, curved side down, on a hardwood floor with no discernible compression or other damage, yet there's enough give that it's noticeably kinder to tired bare feet than standing directly on the floor. I also use it right side up for calf stretches as well as under my hips when I lie on my stomach on the floor to read (another Katy Bowman move, to reduce lower-back strain).I'm really happy I bought this and use it throughout the day.
