I bought this in 2021, it's still working and going strong. I do find that rice frequently sticks/burns on the bottom unless it's plain rice with oil added- and even then sometimes it still slightly burns/sticks to the bottom.. I still cook different rice recipes in this but plan to do a bit of scraping and soaking at the end. Cooks a decent amount (I'm single, so if you're cooking huge quantities you might want a bigger rice cooker). Not a lot of features but I didn't care about that, just wanted it to cook/keep warm which it does. Good value and has lasted a few years so far!

This makes cooking rice so easy. You don't have to watch it. It stops when the rice is done and keeps it warm until you're ready for it. It's also extremely easy to clean.

I love this rice cooker. I've never had one, so I researched for the features I was interested in dishwasher safe! This has it.It's straightforward -- just make rice or steams vegetables. I made my first batch using the enclosed cup and the amount of water directed. I made the full amount: 3 of the cupfuls, and look at the picture -- the rice was up to the top. I added a bit of salt, and that's it. The rice didn't stick to the bottom, and the cooker shut off when the rice had finished cooking. It was delicious and, oh, so easy.I rinsed my rice first to get rid of that milky starch.Others had mentioned that the enclosed cup isn't a full (US) sized cup -- they are correct. It is a Japanese cup size.Others had mentioned using the enclosed spoon to partially cover the vent to prevent the steam from spraying all over -- which I did and will continue to do so.When it came time to clean, it was super easy to hand wash -- maybe next time I'll put it in the dishwasher, but I didn't have to this time.

This is the second rice cooker of this kind I have purchased. We use ours 2-4 times per week, so after a few years one of the legs finally gave out and the inside became scratched from so much cleaning and usage. I love thé size and it produces perfect rice every time. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a small rice maker that wouldn't make a huge mess or burn rice. THIS WAS THE ONE! It was inexpensive, easy as heck to clean, and reading reviews gave me a great tip!Tip 1 - USE THE SPOON TO COVER THE VENT! When cooking, water pops out of the lid vent, which makes a bit of a mess. Nothing too bad, but the more full the pot the more of a mess it makes. Simply place the white spoon over it, which does not BLOCK it, it only keeps the steam and water from shooting up. It rolls back into the pot and keeps rice moist and properly cooked perfect every time.Tip 2 - UNPLUG IT. This has a toggle switch. Press it down to turn it on. In 20 minutes it pops up, done cooking and keeps it on a warmer stage. I've found if you leave it on this it does heat the bottom too long, but that's natural. Keep heating and it's going to get dark on the bottom. I found that if I go out as i hear it pop up, and unplug it, t he rice not only stays warm for long enough, but it never burns. This is not a cook it and leave it all day pot. This i a cook it and use it once done pot. which is great for me. The warmer does indeed keep it warm, but I don't use it.It's pretty perfect and has yet to give me a bad pot of rice, and I wont over make rice now! The cup that comes with it is 180ml or 3/4th c up, so keep that in mind when measuring. I am unsure if this makes 6 "cups" as in what it's sold with or 6 CUPS as in the measurement, as I have yet to check how much is really made. But two of these 180ml cups tends to make a little over 4 CUPS cooked? And t hat works for me and guests.Bonus Tip: Wash your rice and the mess will always be 100 times less to clean up and a better tasting rice :D

EDIT: Another review on here mentioned to use an upside-down spoon over the hole in the lid to stop the splatter and I will say it works like a charm! Now I don't have to use paper towels and keep it by the sink. Try this method if you haven't already! This rice cooker is cheap, simple, and it does one job: it cooks rice. That's it. There's nothing fancy about this appliance - it doesn't have different modes, a timer, or an alarm. You just measure out your water and rice, put the lid on, and hit the switch. 30 minutes later you have fluffy white rice that always comes out great! It tends to take about 20 minutes to cook 1 cup of rice, and I let it sit for 10-15 minutes after it's done to allow some of the excess moisture to evaporate, which makes the rice stickier. Some of the other reviews mention that it spews water out of the vent hole on the top and around the sides of the lid, and this is sort of true. I do wash my rice before I cook it, and usually about 10 minutes after I hit the button to start, it tends to leak a thick starchy water mixture from the lid and vent hole. I have found that if you put the rice cooker on a 9x13 pan and put some folded paper towels on the vent hole and around the lid, it will contain all the mess to the paper towels and pan. Even if some starch drips down the side, it's really easy to use a wet rag and just wipe it off. It is a little inconvenient to have to do this every time you want rice, but you get what you pay for and I'm willing to do that little bit of extra work.

I have never owned a rice cooker until now. I only bought this because I was watching a cooking show and the chef said that a $40.00 rice cooker was the best cooking appliance investment he had made. He was right. Rice cookers make cooking rice completely idiot proof and ridiculously easy. Buy this rice cooker. It is cheap, well made, simple, easy to clean. keeps the rice warm automatically after it is cooked and has great capacity. I spent 30 years eating over cooked, under cooked and burnt rice half the time I cooked rice. This cooks any rice perfectly every time - even when you add tomatoes, seasonings, carrots, fresh herbs or anything else you add to rice. It really is a good value.

This one keeps it simple and doesn't try to improve upon mankind's greatest invention, which we know now to be rice cooker. I had another rice cooker for a few years that was automatic and had quite a few functions. But it took 40 minutes to prepare simple white rice and you had to be very precise with water level or you would not get very good rice. I cannot tolerate that kind of dishonorable behavior when it comes to rice. It was also harder to clean and I never really used any of the other functions anyway. So, when I was looking for a new one, I wanted it to be very basic and something I could count on. Rice is not something you want to mess with unless you want to displease the stomach lord. This one does the job perfectly. Shiny, crisp, flaky grains of rice is ready in 20 minutes. The water proportion doesn't matter as much. Good rice absorbs a lot of water and the rest goes out as steam, so too much water is usually not a problem with basic cookers. Unless, you get a fancy one that has lid with no holes. If you love rice (as one should), buy this, or any of the many simple cheap rice cookers like this. This is the easiest, quickest and most hassle free way to get the most majestic food on planet. I would strongly recommend not to go for fancy expensive ones. This is one of those cases where sophistication is unnecessary and simple means better. I eat rice everyday and almost everybody I know who eat it everyday tend to have simple rice-cookers. Hope this review helps.
