I had never used a potato ricer before Thanksgiving and on a whim, decided to purchase one. I found its a wonderful way to prepare mashed potatoes to avoid lumps etc. Its a little more work to push it through the ricer however, instead of having to peel the potatoes, you can just quarter them and the peel stays in the ricer and only the potato goes through the grates so you save time on that part. The mashed potatoes were very good and no lumps! Will definitely use again!

Works well, easy to use. However, I find it slower than just mashing baked potatoes and other things by hand with a fork.

It's just okay. The handles were not as strong as I would have liked but didn't bend much or break. I cut my thumb on a sharp handle edge. But it was a cheaper version. I didn't want to spend too much if I didn't like what I needed it for. I might upgrade for a stronger one down the road.

This worked well and as advertised on steamed potatoes and carrots. I was very happy with the way it worked and "mashed" the potatoes. The write up says it works well as a juicer, but this did not work for me. It takes too much pressure and wants to bend the plates with the holes in them. I think it will work well on anything like a cooked potato, but not so much on raw things, unless they are very soft to start with.
