This tostonera is awful, horrible material, the wood looks like the wood you buy at an arts and crafts store, painted with some lacquer of some kind or sealant, I don't know but who knows if it's safe, the hinges are wanky, not screwed in well, the tostonera doesn't close as it's supposed to, it's just awful overall, looks like a cheap toy more than a kitchen utensil. The wood is definitely not like the picture, do not waste your money, mine went straight in the trash.

returned. completely splintered and hinge is on its last leg. not sure where these reviews are coming from. the item is unusable and unsafe even if you sand it. not worth a penny.
