How to Use - Fill the pool or spa to its normal level, turn off the pumps, and wait 10 minutes. Insert the applicator tip into the no-spill flip top to fill, then position the tip ½” from the suspected leak and dispense 2-3 ml of pool dye in a ribbon. The water tracing dye will flow toward the leak, if present, indicating its location. Never pour dye directly into the pool; always use the applicator tool for best results.

I recently used the Pool Leak Detection Dye Kit to investigate a mysterious drop in my pool's water level. We'd resurfaced the pool about 6 months ago, and the level was decreasing daily.I wasn't sure if it was due to evaporation or a leak, so I tried this dye kit. I used it in multiple areas of the pool, both with the pump off and on, to see if I could spot any leaks.Luckily, it appears that there are no leaks in the pool itself! The dye helped me rule out that possibility. Now, I'm looking into other potential causes, such as leaks near the pump or evaporation.This dye kit was easy to use and provided valuable insight into my pool's issue. I highly recommend it to anyone trying to detect a leak.

We've been suspecting there's something going on with our pool for the past couple seasons. More than the normal level of evaporation, with the pool needing to be topped off almost weekly. We checked the equipment and it was all mostly water tight, certainly nothing out of the ordinary.On a whim, checked out this product and started working our way around the pool. Come to find out, there was a hairline crack under our slide that was most invisible above the water line. Once we tried out the dye in the water, you could see the coloring quickly get sucked through the small crack. There were also a couple other areas where water seepage was evident, but none as strong as the first crack.This was a straight forward and super easy product to use. I liked how vividly clear the blue coloring appears in the water and isn't quick to dissolve. This made it easy to inject more accurately and track the flow of the water.A side benefit outside of leak detection - we were also able to check on quality of water flow in our pool. There are a couple places where the jets were bumped into the wrong direction and water was stagnating. Catching the dye 'stuck' in these areas helped us identify how to adjust and improve our water flow. If this dye weren't a bit pricey, I'm tempted to dump a bit in the pool pump and see how well it circulates before getting to the filter. (Not sure if that would gum up the filter though).Overall, I really liked this product and how quickly it helped identify an issue that needed immediate attention. My water bill will really benefit from catching the leaks we found!

this worked great. I had a leak that I had to hop into the pool in December to fix in 30 degree weather and when I was done I absolutely, positively wanted to know for sure whether the leak was fixed. I didn't want to get back in that frigid water one more time. I tried to use just regular food dye, but the bottle is really important. It allows you to release dye where you want it while regular bottle just leaks dye all over the place so you can't really see anything. It was easy to use this stuff, and when I run out, if I keep the bottle then I'll be fine. That's a good value to be able to just go to the grocery store to get more dye.

I have always used one of the dark colored reagents in my test kit to check for suspected leaks. It wastes my reagent and is not very accurate as far as getting it to the exact spot needed. The needles that come with this product solve this issue well. You can be very precise with placement of the dye. You can also control how much is released as well which makes it easy to see if you do or do not have a leak. The color of the dye is vibrant and has a long-lasting run. The 8 ounce bottle should last a long time and the product is made here in the USA! So glad I got this!

If you have a vinyl-lined pool, you will eventually need to track down a leak.There are cheaper methods (like using food coloring) but this works better IMHO. Having a syringe and pin point nozzle really helps you find the smaller holes or leaks.Good stuff.!

This is a perfect kit, the longer tips make placing the dye much easier.
