item was received with only 3 months of usage, can't even get through the summer months.. And it says i can return it.chemicals for a pool that expires in 3 months!

ColorQ 2X Pro & comes with 4 liquid reagents and 3 sets of tablets. Liquid reagents CANNOT be substituted for the tablets. The results will not be correct. ColorQ 2X model 2086 requires refill R-2086. Disregard all other advice. I called LaMotte and confirmed this information.

ColorQ Pro 7 Reagents have a limited shelf life. This is the 3rd time I have ordered from this seller, as I seem to get the best "freshness" of chemicals. The CH2 (code 7041) only has a shelf life of 6 months. When I received mine it had 4 months left (67% of useful life. ) The other 5 varied between 85% and 94% of useful life left.

Ordered, delivered, exactly as described, arrived 2 days early, nothing wrong with that. I've seen some concerns about expiration dates in comments. So I offer this info for your consideration. Delivered 04/03/2021, and the expiration dates are as follows, totally fine and acceptable to me.* DPD 1A - 2/23* DPD 1B - 3/22* DPD 3 - 3/23* pH - 2/23* ALK - 2/22* CH1 - 2/22* CH2 - 9/21* CYA - 3/24Also 6 new tubes, clear as can be.Only thing marginal is the CH2 -- that's 6 months until expiration. Works for me. But on the other hand, if you haven't figured out a calcium hardness problem in your pool in 6 months, you need more than a test kit. :-)

This is the refill for the . Look for my full review of that product there. The reagents DO need to be replaced at regular intervals, as documented on the LaMotte website on a page called "LaMotte Reagents Shelf Life" They explain the date codes on the bottle on that page as well. I know from experience that at least the chlorine tests and the calcium hardness tests will give inaccurate results if you go much past the stated shelf life. This kit also includes new test tubes, which is also good thing, since even if you clean them as you should after each use, they tend to get slightly discolored and cloudy over time which I'm guessing could effect the accuracy of your result. Even though some of the reagents are good for 2 years, some are only good for 1 year or 6 months in the case of CH2. Since the cost of the individual reagents I need after a year is almost as much as the whole kit, I order the whole Refill Kit once a year. For a pool, you don't often have to check Calcium Hardness, but if you regularly refill and balance a SPA, you may have to bite the bullet and order a individual CH2 after 6 months., At current price for the total kit of $57 its not cheap, but pool maintenance is not cheap and I consider this an essential part of my maintenance package.
