These are fantastic for the Preppy pens I bought them for. I use them with Carbon Black ink, and they rock! I have not had any issues with leaking or any other problems.

I bought the Platinum Plaisir and was told that I needed a converter as the pen didn't come with one. I see a lot of more expensive pen companies not including the converter at their prices and that's why I buy Chinese pens more like Hongdian and Jinhao, because even though they are cheaper, they include the converter every single time.

I wasn't exactly wanting to more than double the price of my cheap fountain pens, but I thought I would try it out. I'll probably expand my color selection with a few more of these, * It is much tidier to refill the pen than by using a diabetic needle refill a cartridge. * The ink seems to flow better with wetter strokes than with my refilled cartridges. * It seems to carry a bit more ink, since it fills without making air bubbles.

I still have the first one. Works great. I use them for Platinum 3776 Century, Plaisir, Prefounte, and Preppys. These are more expensive than the Preppy and the Prefounte - but the pen plus converter is still cheaper than a Lamy Safari without a converter. I still have my first ones from ten years ago. I just add more as I discover other ink colors I want in the rotation, or if I want to keep a pen stashed somewhere to jot a note. The pens work even weeks or months later. These are workhorses; easy to clean; no maintenance (maybe silicone grease once a year), and keep up with flow and capacity from (0.2 mm) through stub (0.5 mm). Wider than that, I just switch to the Lamy Safari's 1.1 mm stub.
