Looking for a hootin', ribbitin', and waddlin' good time? Look no further than this beginner crochet kit! Let me tell you, I embarked on this yarny adventure with the enthusiasm of a kid in a candy store, and boy, did it deliver!First off, let's talk about the owl. Whooo knew crocheting could be this much fun? This little feathered friend turned out so cute, I half expected it to fly off into the night, but thankfully, my stitching skills kept it grounded. The instructions were a real hoot to follow, even for someone as coordinated as a baby giraffe on roller skates.Next up, we have the frog. Crochet and amphibians may not seem like a natural pairing, but let me tell you, this little guy hopped right into my heart. Sure, there were moments when my frog looked more like a lumpy green blob, but with a little determination (and maybe a few froggy puns for motivation), I finally got him looking ribbitingly perfect.And last but not least, the penguin! I mean, who doesn't love a dapper bird in a tuxedo? Crocheting this little guy was a breeze, even if my stitches occasionally resembled spaghetti more than they did yarn. But hey, a wonky wing here and there just adds to his charm, right?Overall, this crochet kit was an absolute blast. My daughter had never done anything like this before but wanted to give it a try so I got her this kit. The animals are adorable & the instructions were very easy to read & follow. Kit came with everything that was needed. Quality was great & definitely worth the money. The little completed animals were the perfect size

I bought this to help me learn how to crochet. The instructions are a difficult to follow but the videos are helpful. The yarn is very cheap and hard to work with, especially for beginners. Overall, not a bad kit but could be better.

So the kit overall comes as described. The videos are linked with the kit, but are confusing.I'm a beginner crocheter with 2 projects under my belt. I went with another kit that starts with W, and I absolutely loved it. However, they were expensive. So I tried this kit. I was super excited, as I can follow easy patterns already, but this yarn is TERRIBLE. It immediately splits on the hook and I struggle with the simplest of chains and stitches. I couldn't get past the second step and got frustrated. You cannot even see the Vs with this yarn. I went ahead and ordered some easy yarn separately to see if I can do these patterns.Also, the videos with the kit has a very strong accent. I didn't think it would bother me, but I'm autistic and it did. This shouldn't be a problem with everyone though. Plus, they literally talk through every stitch instead of just counting after 2 or 3 stitches. So 15 stitches would be over, under, hook, pull through, 2 yarns, over under again, 1 yarn, repeat. It made everything tedious. Just say ok, repeat this step until 10 times.Anyway, I will set this kit aside and wait until my other yarn comes in to try again. It does have some good pictures with the book. So that's a plus.

I didn't care for this product...at all. I was so excited about this product until I tried it. The instructions are not clear, and the Youtube video that is supposed to help is even more unclear. The person in the video does not explain things like they were for beginners, and her accent made it even more difficult to understand. I am so disappointed. I have since made a similar project (with my own scrap yarn, following a clear video), so I know it's not just me.The ONLY reason I didn't send it back was because the form for returning something did not list an option that matched my reason for wanting to return it (i.e. it did not arrive too late and it was not defective or broken, etc.).I was tempted to try a different project to see if it offered a better experience, but when I see that orange DYI Handicrafts book listed in other projects, that causes a big red flag for me now.I hope other people have had a better experience with this.
