Product is as advertised and solved my P0449 engine code, but it appears it has failed after about 2 years of use. Not sure if I will be replacing with this exact part again..

from Victorian Bell on August 13, 20182006 GMC Sierra 2500hd works great.I bought this for my 2500HD Classic ext cab 6.0 at first thought it was the wrong one but its slightly small because of the redesign. The solenoid camber is smaller ( has same size solenoid) because of the remote can that comes with it. You mount it away from dirt and dust. Which is what I found at he opening to the solenoid inside blocking it open. Just remember to purchase 12'(-/+) of 5/8" heater hose to mount in the new location. Locating it far way from where dirt and road debris can get to it. Check out / search for Service bulletin 02-06-04-037J.2012-08-14_193617_technical pdfsorry no pics. Note: i didn't have to drop transmission to get mine on(according to instructions). I just taped end of hose and fished it through. May be 30 minutes to install.

On my 2007.5 Sierra with the 5.3 had the P0449 code. Bought this. Swapped it in less then 10 minutes and cleared the code and been good for weeks now.If anyone cares. Order some hose clamps as well. To swap it I just took the plug off (obviously) then took a pair of channel locks and crushed the plastic ends on my old one to slide the hoses off easier. Then just simply slide the hose clamps on the hose, then slide the hoses onto the new part. Tighten. Put back into bracket and solved.Hope this helps!

Fast shipping, good price. I would give this a 5 star except this issue is a GM design issue and should really be a recall. This obviously is at No fault of the seller.

This worked perfectly on my 2004 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab Z71 with 5.3L engine. Installed this and it was a perfect fit. My check engine light went out after repair was made. Didn't have to reset the computer. I saw where my old solenoid must have rusted inside expanding the metal and cracking the plastic housing. I took it apart and found it was junk inside. I installed the new solenoid and vent as suggested by GM. I ran hose from the solenoid to the frame rail, up the frame rail towards the front of the truck and then up above the back of the transmission. I zip tied everything good. Nice clean install. One thing to note is that it took me 11ft of hose to do this. I had to buy that at a local parts store. The 6ft of hose that came in this bundle wasn't even close to being long enough. This solenoid is located at the rear of the gas tank. So its nearly at the rear of an extended cab pickup truck. I'll keep the hose for miscellaneous fixes I suppose. Good luck with your repairs.

Ordered this for my 2010 Silverado with an 0449 fault code, it did the job. Worked great and got rid of that pesky engine light. I recommend buying the rubber hose clamps they offer as a "buy together" it saved the day. The preformed hoses on the truck were "heat shrinked" they had to be cut off and could not be pushed back on to the new solenoid . So we switched gears and installed the hoses worked great. This vapor sol was half price compared to an Auto Store. Saved that money and bought a code reader (OTC 3108N) pocket scan with the savings. It was also purchased here on Amazon and worked great. Kept it from the dealer and saved no doubt hundreds. Cant always do that but this kind of issue was no problem.

Product was exact same as on my 2008 Silverado. Even though the part said it would not fit. Saved myself hundreds on having the garage do it and telling me there was a new updated version of this solenoid GM has. Told me it was going to be $350 bucks to fix. Watched a few You tube vids. and installed the new one I ordered in 15 minutes. No more ck. engine light it's been a month. Good product easy install. Would give it 5 stars if it weren't because of GM telling me they wouldn't go good for the part they say is not defective but why do they have a new updated version if it's OK. HMMMM. Well if it last a few years it is well worth it.

Direct replacement. Very fast shipment too. Fit perfect in my 2010 Silverado Crew Cab w/o any modifications! Fixed my Check Engine light for P0449 code and P0455 code. All I had to do was:1) locate the old part (mounted on a bracket on the frame, i.e., "wide open, very easy access below the gas cap area),2) "click-release" it (after unplugging & removing electrical connector and hose towards the front of the truck ),3) remove the "C" clip connecting the other hose to the canister and ease that hose off the canister (not from the new vent valve solenoid as it will still be connected to the vent valve solenoid),4) and then "click-in" the new part after re-installing the "S" hose on the new vent valve solenoid (use very hot water to swell it for removal and re-installation).5) re-install the hose mentioned in step 2, the hose to the canister mentioned in step 3 and the "C" clip securing that hose.6) Done - 45 minutes; no hurry7) Amazon pricing great and shipping fast! - Quick and easy "do it yourselfer"!

The part, along with the hose and clamps arrived 3 days after ordering them. Replacing the part was quick and easy. And took about 30 mins to complete. This includes the time it took to replace 1 hose after breaking it while removing it from the part. Thankfully I had ordered extra hose and clamps, just in case. After finishing the job, I cleared the codes. And my 2009 Chevy Silverado is running like new. Plus, there is a video on YouTube.com that can help you a lot. Good job Amazon. You saved me several hundred dollars.

Just purchased and installed, ACDelco 214-2082 Canister solenoid valve kit.Works great cleared all codes.Amazon should not post it as only possible option of repair for this issue, there is the older, original version of this product with no remote breather, ACDelco 214-2149 Professional Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid, for third of the price, sold by Amazon as well.Just because GM don't want you to install older but still functional part, Amazon should not tell you that is not the right part for your vehicle, just newer, better option.Since I've purchased Chevy truck 05, I know almost everything about ABS, ABS sensors, front hub assy, scanning tools, OBD codes, airflow sensors and lot of other things, mostly in reference to rust protection and not overfilling tank with gas, haha. Just wish, in back of my head, GM build truck I can just,DRIVE!!!
