I looked high and low for a pole tall enough to hang my string lights and easy to attach to my deck. In hindsight, I was clearly over-thinking - I mean, how complicated is what I just described? It's not, right? So why did I pay $150 for a stick?I had checked dowels, but nothing local was long enough. I had checked mounting clamps, concrete stands, planter stands, and nothing really seemed right. So after a couple of weeks of fruitless off-and-on searching, I found this pole and thought it was the the answer to my apparently particular needs.The magic pole arrives in 2 sections, with two mounting clamps and 4 screws. First up, the clamps are too wide to attach to a 4x4 deck post, so I had to move it a few inches to mount to my fence. Second, the two sections attach via a single spring snap button instead of screwing in, so while the bottom half is secured fast by the clamps, the top half has a little wobble.Looking back, I could have done just as well with a lighter wooden dowel or PVC conduit, painted to whatever color. It would have been very easy to attach a carabiner to the top of either of these options, and PVC would have had the added benefit of being able to run the extension cord up the inside (which you can't do with iYN's magic stick).So there you have it. Some buyer's remorse. I mean, it does the job, but maybe you don't need to spend $150 for a stick?

I really liked how sturdy these poles are, but the brackets could fit better around them, and one of my poles came without the eyebolt and carabiner for the top! For the price I would think everything would be absolutely top notch.

Easy to assemble, sturdy, quality is great, really love the clip/latch at the top. Love the option to purchase brackets in addition! Only change I’d like to suggest to give the option to change the size/measurement to add the top poll. I used it hanging outdoor patio/bistro lights! The poll supports the weight of my patio/bistro lights.

I bought 4 light poles for a rooftop garden project that I had designed for my landscape business. One of the four poles arrived in a slightly different configuration than the other three (newer model I presume). I messaged IYN stands directly on their website about the issue. They quickly acknowledged the mistake and I had the correct pole at my front door within only a few days. A well designed product from a company that clearly cares about its customers. Will certainly be using IYN Stands again for future installations.
