actually better than expected. great value. adjustable height. accessories for multiple installation methods were extremely helpful. go easy on the screws as they can strip easily, only concern, but they give you extra if need. great product, highly recommend.

I was thinking about using some wood stakes/poles to hand some bistro lights but using these thinner and black poles are much better. You don't really see them (as much) at night.

I recently received the 9 FT String Light Poles for Outside, and they have been a fantastic addition to my backyard setup. These light poles are impressively sturdy and well-constructed. Made from high-quality steel with a thickened base, they provide excellent support for string lights without bending or wobbling. The sleek black finish adds a modern touch to my outdoor decor, making them both functional and aesthetically pleasing.Once installed, the poles stood firm even in windy conditions. They easily supported heavy-duty string lights, creating a beautiful and stable lighting display. The recommended spacing between poles (6-10 feet for heavy lights and 12-16 feet for lighter decorations) ensured an even and secure setup. These poles are perfect for various outdoor settings, from backyard parties and weddings to everyday patio lighting. They can also be used to hang other decorations like lanterns, balloons, or even holiday lights, making them a versatile addition to any outdoor space.Overall, the 9 FT String Light Poles for Outside are an excellent investment for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space. Note: these string light poles are only the screw base, not stake base. I made the mistake of not noticing this, which made it a little trickier to use, and noticed that several other reviewers made the same mistake. That being said: I was very happy with how sturdy these are. I live in Iowa and had to make sure that whatever I got would stand up to our summer wind storms. These are easy to put together, and nice and sturdy.

These polls are not very strong, if you have lots of wind, they probably won’t hold up

We are using these string light poles for outback near our fire pit area. We have to find some type of long anchor for the base as they do come with the screws, but those are definitely not long enough or strong enough to hold the pole into the ground. These really are heavy duty poles that seem very secure when they are positioned together. They are easy to install, but, I would definitely see how high you want them prior to attaching the base. As you can see in one of the pictures, the base tends to scratch up the pole, and we only knew this after we decided to make the poll higher. overall, a good fit for what will be a great backyard theme.

To ship this in a small box it is assembled with multiple 19” pipes that have a 2” threaded overlap. All but the top piece are identical so you can modify the height as needed with the understanding that the taller it is, the easier it will be to flex under tension. It takes some work to get the pieces to fully tighten but when you get it, they will be hard to disassemble. Even fully tight so there is no wobble between pieces, the overall structure will flex as the wall thickness is just enough to withstand deformation by hand though you can feel it give with a tight squeeze. With the recommended use and balanced weight on each side, they seem to be suitable for the job intended and I was able to quickly and easily add some decorative string lights on the patio using the house, to anchor the ends and these poles to support the middle of the string. While the exterior is well coated, the interior seems prone to rust and without any means for water to drain they will likely get water inside over time which would put them at risk for rusting or freeze damage if no mitigation steps are taken.

I have been trying to figure out a reasonable way to string lights over my pool for some time now. Then I ran across this set of Calchele poles, which gave me a simpler way to rig the lights than I had been planning for.The set of two poles comes in a kit with sections that screw together to create a pole (or poles) essentially however high you want to go. If you split the kit you can do two poles about 9-10 feet tall each. The kit also comes with two mounting bases, two toppers with dual hooks, and multiple sets of mounting hardware for mounting to either wood or concrete.I ended up going with nine pole sections (1/2 the total included in the kit), and anchored the base into concrete I poured into a large planter, and then strung my lights. So far everything looks and works great, and has had no problems at all in some fairly stiff wind conditions. Now, I did notice the whole thing does have a bit of a curve to it with the lights hung, but I admittedly strung a longer set of lights than the recommended length described in the product listing. The string of lights I added is 100 feet long and is anchored at two points at the house, and with an overall weight of not more than 3-5 pounds. But, even that light weight pulling on something that's 9-10 feet in the air will induce some flex. So I'm not surprised. I had more of an issue making sure the base was sufficiently weighted to keep the whole thing from tipping over than I have concern about any of the pole sections failing. One other note is that because the overall pole is in sections I have the option to increase or decrease the height, or take the whole thing down during the winter if I choose.Great product with lots of options.
