EASY TO USE!Set up string lights last summer and they held up nicely through the seasons. Used them to offset and distribute the weight of two sets of lights! Easy to set up and was just what we needed to finish the project we started.

Felt these were a little expensive for the quality of items. have installed them in my backyard to hold patio string lights, the stakes were somewhat weak and bent when trying to push them into ground.

Id been holding onto a 52 light string for a couple years because could never decide how or where to put it. Patio or pergola? Well with the help of these poles and a bit of ingenuity you can see it ended up on my deck and pergola. The included instructions show either installing in the ground or mounting flush to a post. But since our posts are PVC and have a decorative base and cap that wasn’t gonna work and no way were we willing to drill into our posts. We purchased a 3.5 inch x 3/4 inch pvc board and cut lengths to fit, then secured the pole onto this using the included brackets. (We did not use the included screws and wall anchors which were too long.) We used heavy duty white zip straps to secure the boards to each deck post at the top and bottom. This set up enabled the pole to clear the deck post base and cap. We were not about to drill holes into our deck posts so this was our solution and it has worked very well. If at any time we want to uninstall them, we can easily cut the zip straps and remove the boards and poles with no damage to our deck posts.

I am very pleased with the quality of the metal use for the poles and the versatility that the set offers. The height is adjustable based on the number of pieces you put together, which was great because I wound up shortening the poles by one. The four prong pieces replacing the ground, makes the polls quite dirty, but if needed, there are sides of sports included. If you are looking to attach the poles to a fence or deck railing adapters are also included.Would order a gift if needed

These poles were easy to assemble. The right is perfect and they are very sturdy. We get some high winds and monsoons where I live and they have up held through it all.

I bought a total about 30 of these. First ones that came were a slightly different design with an allen key set screw. Had a bad weld and Amazon replaced it and that's where things started getting screwy.I started receiving a different design for the rest of the shipments that was not 8 and 1/2 ft. They are actually 10in shorter (see photos). They did add a wing nut which makes it tooless but the quality of the weld and connection was inconsistent. Some of them were extremely abrasive with very sharp metal behind the screw which made it difficult to connect the pipes at times and cause damage to the finish. And the ones with the worst of that was difficult to tighten with the wingnut by hand and about half of them had rust on the screw threading inside the hole.I then tried to put it into the ground and unless you have super soft ground you have no hope of putting the stakes in without breaking. And if your ground is that soft I would be concerned of it staying upright depending on the length and weight of your wire runs. My home is about a year and a half old so underneath the grass they're still the packed dirt. Just stepping to try to drive it in broke the weld on one of the claws as you see in the picture. And then trying to just use my foot to push in the others bent the others about 45° down immediately. I didn't even use my full weight. Those are not sturdy and if you have to move these or take them up and down those joints will fatigue and break. I did not jump hop or do anything crazy to cause those steel prongs to bend they're just not sturdy and has a very simple spot weld connection. If you use the attached c clamps to screw into your decking or something like that I think these would work pretty well. You may have to buy a few and get ones that don't have any manufacturing defects but for the price and promotions they offer I think these will work good for that. I'm keeping two of my order because I mounted it to my deck and it works pretty well. That's why I'm not giving it one star.I will be returning all of the rest. I see the same design from different vendors so they probably are buying it from the same manufacturer source. Unfortunately not in many options out there. I believe I'm going to suck it up and just have to build a do-it myself one with weighted potting planters.UPDATE: Will be returning them all. I have one of these as a corner pole supporting 2 strings of lights, the order and one leg of a diagonal cross. The steel actually bent in the middle. This is nothing crazy, I will update the photos tomorrow.
