I have tried different brands of offline cloning stations for M.2 NVMe and they are all pretty much similar in terms of operation. This one is no different. I do use Orico M.2 NVMe enclosures, so I am no stranger to their products. The cloner came with all the accessories that you need to get you started. The cloning station worked as it should by pressing and holding on to the start button, and then all 4 led will be on when cloning is done. I used it to clone two of my laptops 1TB OS drives, because I wanted faster and larger drives for them. Both drives are pretty full. Cloning the two drives to new 2TB drives took about the same amount of time, around 70-80 minutes or so. I noticed that the cloning station starts heating up as soon as the drives started to heat up. And since it doesn't have any fans compared to my other cloners that do have cooling fans, it got pretty toasty. The 2TB drives worked flawlessly after installing them in the laptops after the cloning, No BSOD, so the cloner worked as it should. But I don't like devices that constantly heat up and without proper cooling.I have a generic brand cloner that has cooling fans which I normally use for cloning 1TB M.2 NVMe drives and that cloner does a faster job than this one and doesn't heat up as much. I am suspecting that the heat buildup has something to do with the performance slow down on this cloning station, which is not uncommon issue with cloning stations, because I had similar experience going back to the days of cloning the big block IDE drives and the cloning process took longer when the drives get heated up too much, which affected the reading and writing of the cloner.Perhaps putting this cloner on a laptop cooler while cloning might improve the cloning performance but why need to go through the hassle if the manufacturer can just add fans to the base. If you are looking for a cloning station, there are so many choices out there. But if this one is on sale at a good price, I think it is a decent one to get, especially Orico is a more known brand for these type of products than many of other no brand devices.

Small and compact. Not easy to see in the photos but there are small clips on the inside of each channel that keep the SSD depressed in lieu of an end screw. 2280s hang over the edge and are easy to remove, but you might have trouble trying to get a finger or something under a shorter SSD to remove it.Simple operation. One button for power, one for offline cloning. Power supply is required for offline obviously, but also required if using with the USB.Personally I prefer an enclosure that doesn't operate with the drives exposed. This is more in the style of most HDD cloners where you just slot it in and go, but those drives aren't built with exposed PCB. This is probably more convenient though if you're someone making a lot of drive clones or frequently swapping ones to connect to a computer, as they are easier to access and swap than having to open an enclosure.

At its best, it's a really handy tool to have. The user manual, on the other hand, is pretty sparse. There are no real instructions beyond the absolute basics. As far as I can tell, this is solely for cloning two disks that are inserted into the device. You might think that because you have USB-C cables that connect to a PC, you could possibly clone a drive that was in that computer, but as far as I can tell, this isn't possible. Exactly why you're supposed to connect these to a PC? If it was explained, I didn't understand it.The included cables are very short. I ended up using my own.Once you get everything properly going, it is a nice tool to be able to quickly clone drives this way.Personally, I didn't notice any unexpected heat issues. NVMEs run hot. In a PC, you have air flow from the fans helping cool them. I didn't notice these running any hotter than would be expected given the lack of airflow. NVMEs run hot.

This is an awesome option if you need to clone SSDs. I build Raspberry Pi devices all the time for home automations and this will make it so much easier to clone the SSDs (I never trust the SD cards for long use). My test for this device was to clone a 480Gb drive for Home Assistant which I used to use the RPi installer for before. This device did it much faster. Another feature I really like is that I can either clone 1 to 1 using the device alone or I can clone from the computer to 2 SSDs. It is very compact but has heft to it. Highly recommend it!
