For some reason the seller and/or manufacturer can't get the instructions right. They literally have a single job to do when it comes to telling how they programmed it and they FAILED MISERABLY. If you buy this and use the instructions it came with, it will not work. I had to look in the comments/reviews to see how it really works. Interesting, I did accidentally do the right sequence once but instantly stopped it in fear I might be breaking something (not sure how that worked out because its not intuitive). The real sequence is the following:-Attach the drives correctly-Plug in the power-Press the power button-Hold the "Clone" button until ALL the lights blink-Release and then press the "Clone" button again (Short press)-Wait until all the LEDs stay solid (first solid LED = 25%, four solid LEDs = 100%).-Turn off the power and remove the drivesAll and all, the device works well. I had two versions, one that worked like the instructions show, and one that didn't. Both did the job quickly (15-20 mins for 1TB), and both did it seamlessly. Both drives dropped in and booted up. This doesn't account for the need to repartition for expanded storage, but that isn't too difficult. TLDR, you will need special software or need to delete recovery partitions between the C drive and the unallocated space (in CMD, using the override command).Only dropping the rating 1 star for the instructions mess. Dropping another star for the limited drive configuration. Because the mounting is indented in to the device, M2 drives with heatsinks will largely not fit. I had to remove the heatsink (normally a few screws), but the system worked as expected once the heatsink was removed.

This worked perfectly to clone SSDs as well as to read them through a USB cable. So, we're good there. The cloning was very fast and it was able to clone 500gb of data in a few minutes. Keep in mind that if the target SSD is greater than the source SSD in size, the size difference in the target SSD will be unallocated storage, so it'll make your target SSD looks smaller than it is in terms of storage. What I didn't like was the design and instructions. I really wish the SSDs weren't facing up like that. If you're careful, it's fine, I guess. What's more annoying is that the instructions for offline clone were plain wrong. It said to push the clone button until the 25% led started to blink. That didn't work. What you actually need to do to begin the offline clone process is to turn on the switch, then hold the clone button until all the LEDs begin blinking, then click the clone button again. You'll know the process began when the LEDs begin moving back and forth across the different percentages. Also, after cloning an SSD with windows on it, you might have issues with the MBR on the new ssd, so be prepared for that. I wish I could help there, but it's really confusing sometimes.

I had high hopes for the M.2 NVME Duplicator and Docking Station, but unfortunately, it fell short in several areas. While the concept is great—offering offline cloning and fast transfer speeds up to 20Gbps—the execution was underwhelming. It does work for basic tasks, and the USB 3 connectivity is a nice touch, but the performance doesn't justify the price tag
