I use this product to revive a dried-out, faded, water stained windowsill. I sanded off the original finish, applied my stain, then used Odie’s. It’s amazing how it revived the wood! I wish I had known about this product years ago! It has a pleasant smell and I love they it’s not toxic- I didn’t have to use gloves to apply and my nails and cuticles seemed to appreciate the treatment as well.

Odie’s is so easy to use, smells wonderful, and is absolutely gorgeous on wood. Love this stuff.

Let me tell you about Odies Oil...it's a game-changer for anyone serious about woodworking. Used it on my latest project, a custom dining table, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The application process was a breeze, and the way it enhanced the natural beauty of the wood was truly impressive. It's like giving your piece a new lease on life. And the durability? Top-notch. My table has seen its fair share of family gatherings and spills, but Odies Oil has kept it looking pristine. If you're looking for a finish that combines beauty and resilience, look no further than Odies Oil. It's worth every penny AND it actually smells fantastic, so that is a nice bonus!

So I watch a channel on a certain platform and one of the talented people I love to watch is a furniture restorer/repairer/re-maker. She is talented beyond belief and one of the many products she used on a recent piece I loved was Odie's oil. I started very small, b/c I know I get ahead of myself when it comes to trying new techniques sometimes on projects. I got the starter set and I just LOVE it. I repaired the wooden top to an older cookie jar I have and used the oil as a final step for that. It is SO good. It really, really is. I am now looking at other Odie's products for some other projects I have in mind. I have also used the oil on an old repaired bird feeder (outside only, before laquering it) on an old frame and on an old Victorian era trunk (just the wooden portions). It seems to wake up the wood and really shows the grain and natural colors to the full. I am so impressed with this stuff. It is expensive, but I feel it is worth the money.

Odie’s isn’t the only Hard Wax Oil I’ve used, but it is the one I come back to over and over again. It is more universally useful and safer than any other HWO I’ve used. It is not free of VOC’s, but it is not obnoxious or even objectionable. It is durable. It looks good—even on a minimally prepared low-cost glued-up panel like this one (with one very very light coat). Used as directed, it is Very cost-effective and a pleasure to use.

It's good stuff, but oh boy, the learning curve is rough. I've been a woodworker for a while now, maybe 12 years, mostly using shellac, varnish, teak and tung oil. So I have hand rubbed a few finishes. Practice on some small projects before you lay it on your masterpiece. That said, I think it's great stuff. I look forward to figuring it out. I've had the most success on new built projects over refinishing projects, but your milage may vary. It takes tiny amounts to do a project, so it's not actually as expensive as it seems. I would love it if the company made a mini kit with tiny jars of everything they make, just so I could get my hands on everything and figure it out. This jar will likely last me a few years.

I love the look Odie's leaves on our butcher block countertop. It always feels smooth afterwards as well. The only downside I found is that its actually difficult to spread the oil with the woven pads given, it doesn't seem to spread out much and we really had to scrub. This could also just be user error though since we haven't used it very much
