This John Boos Block Board Cream , along with John Boos Mystery Oil is all I use on my John Boos Butcher Block Work Table. It is recommended by John Boos butcher block products and works extremely well. It keeps my butcher block surface like new. It protects agains moisture and makes it easy to clean between applications. I recommend it for any butcher block.

I love this cream as it makes my boards look brand new and keeps the water/odors out of the wood. I generally make most meals at home so my boards get a lot of use and so end up having to use the cream every couple weeks to keep the boards in good shape.Easy to use and apply, just be careful as boards get slippery while it’s setting!

Hi friends! Ok, so I don't know if it's actual bee poop, but they make it somehow and it worked really well on our butcher block countertop. I gave it 4 stars because I have nothing to compare it to, there may be another bees wax product out there that is better, but I haven't used it. Application is a bit tricky because its sticky and a little messy (probably my fault) so I recommend wearing some latex gloves or something and be ready to throw away whatever rag you use....it's gonna be covered in wax obviously. It doesn't have much of an odor which is good and it wiped off the next day pretty easy, so all in all a pretty good product in my opinion. I gotta go! until next time, stay handsome and handy.......or at least handy!

Bought it together with my chopping board from same seller. Easy to use, feels nice on the wooden chopping board, but in the end it can be too expensive as you need to use it every month as recommended. And you use pretty much of the product for each treatment. Therefore I find the product to be too expensive. But a must have to keep your chopping board nice and well maintained. Lower the price and I would have given it 5 stars.

I own three beautiful Boos cutting boards. But for some reason, I took my time on ordering the Mystery Oil and the Cream. I finally got tired of just seeing it in my Wish List, and bought the combo set. I've gotta admit, I'm really happy with the results I've been getting. Following an expert chef's advice, I actually treated my blocks with the mystery oil night after night at first. Instead of just treating them once a month. Plus I used it on a few other wooden boards and serving trays in my kitchen. Man, this oil will make the cheapest serving tray look like a piece of art. Plus it's easy to apply, as well as the beeswax. But then, I did discover something over time....The Mystery Oil, well, it's not exactly a mystery. There was a veteran cutting board owner that did mention that really any food-grade mineral oil will serve the same purpose as the Mystery Oil. And that does seem to be true. So listen, the Mystery Oil is definitely a five-star product as far as what it does for your cutting boards and other wooden kitchenware that doesn't get washed with soap and water or the dishwasher. But the truth is that you can also buy a bulk amount of food-grade mineral oil at a pretty cheap discount on Amazon, regardless. Am I glad that I got this set? Yep. Would I buy it again? Probably not, if I can get the food-grade mineral oil in bulk for a low price. And I use this stuff liberally, so I'm going to be buying it bulk for my three Boos Blocks. But if you're new to cutting board treatments, I'd say at least give it a shot.

From the product: "INGREDIENTS Natural unbleached bee's wax and food grade mineral oil." Also, "...For best results let the cream soak into the wood overnight, then remove the excess with a paper towel." Ignore that instruction. You will need to do it more than once. That's not a bad thing, it's just unusual seeing the instructions for a product tell me to use too little, instead of too much.I used this on a new bamboo cutting board. It worked great and really soaked in well. But don't plan on using the cutting board for a day or two after you first start treating it. A new board will really soak this up, and you want to err on the side of too much (which you can wipe off) versus too little (which may leave the board insufficiently treated). My board is 11-3/4" x 15-3/4" x 1-1/2", bamboo, with rubber feet on the bottom. I treated the bottom and side of the board first, leaving a little extra coating on it. Then I placed the board on a layer of paper towels to minimize how much I might have to clean up from my kitchen counter. After I rubbed the cream into the top, I left it to stand overnight. In the morning, I was still able to rub more in. I checked back every couple of hours and rubbed in more. I kept finding a few spots that could absorb more of the cream, so I covered the whole thing again.Don't wipe it off until you are absolutely sure it can't absorb any more. By then, you'll have very little excess cream, and you'll basically buff it off with the paper towel. Your board will be darker, and look beautiful. You'll want to leave it out on the counter, it will look so good.I bought two of these creams thinking I would use a whole tube on my brand new cutting board. But, in writing this review, I stopped to weigh the two tubes (using a digital scale we have) to see how much I used. The unopened tube weighed 6.0 ounces, and the tube I used weighed 5.0 ounces. All of that cream I used as described above, and I still only used 1.0 ounce (by weight). The cream is measured in the tube by fluid ounces, but at this small a size, it really is close. So I used 1/5 of the tube on a brand new cutting board, and won't have to use an ounce every time I treat the board after cleaning. Great deal.I apologize for the long review, but I hope this helps you make your decision on which product to buy. This one has just what the websites say is great for your cutting board. I am really happy with it.
