I have several foam rollers and this one is the most impressive one yet. For being a recycled product, I’m really impressed with the material. It seems really solid and strong, and yet there’s a slight softness and give that makes it very comfortable to use. The ridges are quite prominent and give a very effective massage, even on larger muscles.Love the Tidal size/width as well, because I use it on my IT band and along my upper hips, so there’s plenty of room to move with it on the floor. It also has some weight to it, so it tends to stay in place while in use.Lastly, it’s a beautiful design and I don’t feel like I need to hide it away somewhere. I have the maroon one and it’s a very pretty, deep red and the ridges mimic the ocean waves. (Since it’s made from recycled foam and an algae outer layer.)

I have tried lots of different things to help my back(lower and upper) and neck. Some of the things helped a little, and some not at all. I ordered this roller hoping that it would help for short term and long term relief, mainly in my back and neck. When I took the roller out of the shipping box, I was a little surprised about how hard it was, how very firm it was. I did expect it to be firm, just not as firm as it is. So I had to try it next. My first reaction was "Ouch!". The circumference of the roller is more than what I have used in the past, and the wavy pattern was a new experience for me and I could tell that it was there. I was, still am, able to feel the wavy pattern (waves) as I roll back and forth. I used the roller, initially, 3 to 4 times per day, and for 7 minutes each time. It took me 3 days to feel comfortable using the roller. I did have some soreness in my muscles for several days, which is a very good thing to me. The roller was definitely reaching deep into my muscles. Once the initial soreness had gone away, I could certainly feel a difference in how my back and neck felt. I was able to move with less pain and some of the tightness in my muscles had eased up. I continue to use the roller daily and I feel great at the end of each session, which is at least 2 times per day for 10 to 15 minutes. I am so glad that I kept using it those first several days when I was sore and uncomfortable. The longer I use it the better I am feeling. I still have some muscles with knots and tightness, but I can feel that they are loosening up some. I like the size of this roller, the width, because it covers my entire back. So, I am working on my entire back as I roll back and forth, not just a portion of my back. I am able to target more muscles at one time. I also like that I can use this roller on my entire body. This roller is well made, it's easy to use, you can take it anywhere and it doesn't get in your way or anyone else's way. I am getting out of bed easier than I used to, and with less pain. Based on how good this roller is working for me, the price of it is more than reasonable.

I don't get the people complaining about firmness when it's marketed as firm, high-density foam. I think it's the perfect amount of firmness if you are looking for a firm roller (not a soft or medium one). The design is really nice, although I wish I'd got the seafoam color since I live by the beach. I like the waves too. I actually wonder if that's why people are complaining about firmness, because of the waves and the digging-in/massaging effect they have. They do dig in more than a standard waveless foam roller. I personally like it though.This is actually my favorite foam roller I've used and the one that got me to use it daily. I've used them before but never consistently. This feels so good and really loosens up my muscles, so I do it at least every morning after waking up because I'm often stiff after sleeping.I think this size Tidal (20 x 5) is the best size because it's large enough for you to use on every part of your body (back, legs, buttox, shoulders etc.).Now the one downside. The eco-friendliness claims. They put on the label that it cleans & restores 26.2 gallons of water. It also cleans 75.1 grams of Co2. These are probably true BUT they also put that they harvest the algae in America and the product is made in China. That means they're shipping the algae to China, and then shipping the completed product back. That's not an eco-friendly supply chain process. Ideally, you'd like to see an eco-friendly company at least build in the U.S. or closer, like in Mexico/Canada. To be fair, if they didn't make such a marketing stink about being eco friendly, and just focused on why algae is better than other chemical foams/foam rollers, I wouldn't have cared.Either way I do really recommend this foam roller if you're looking for a firm foam roller that really loosens up your body.

Simply happy with this product! Worth the Money.The quality is solid. It looks wonderful and a little more "posh" than some of the foam block/roller products I have used.I love the wave pattern; it is very effective for tenderizing sore muscles :) Color is Beautiful.Short and sweet review. Love the product design, from the color to the ribs, to the algae material. However for me, it was too soft, a little smaller than I wanted, and for the price, despite its positives, I elected to return it. However if you have the extra bucks and like a softer foam, this is the perfect product.

Gorgeous and good quality but much firmer than expected. Can't use it as much as I would like due to that.
