Man, I knew my back was bad but this product really drove it home! It's helped my back a lot. Comfortable foam on the outside and very firm center cylinder, I don't think it will every break down or bend. Very nice product.

I have a lot of tightness in my hips and thighs and my physical therapist has helped me tremendously with this issue. I bought this foam roller after reading many reviews and I have to say that it’s very effective for my problem. I do not have back pain, so I’m not sure how good it is for that. I use it on both legs for only a couple minutes at a time because it seems to help more if I don’t overdo it. The instruction sheet that came with the roller is very helpful. I’m impressed with how sturdy and firm it is.

I have been practicing Tae Kwon Do for several years now, and the TriggerPoint Grid Foam Roller has become an indispensable part of my training routine. From the moment I started using it, I noticed a significant improvement in my recovery time and overall muscle flexibility. The multi-density exterior is ingeniously designed to mimic the feel of a massage therapist's hands, which helps to target and release tight knots in the muscles. Whether I'm working on my quads, hamstrings, or back, the different textures provide varied levels of pressure, making it highly effective. The rigid core ensures that the roller maintains its shape even after extensive use, which is crucial for someone who engages in high-intensity workouts like Tae Kwon Do.One of the standout features of this foam roller is its compact size. It is easy to carry around, whether to the gym or during travel, ensuring that I can always have it on hand for a quick session. Despite its size, it offers exceptional durability and doesn't lose its firmness, which is a common issue with other foam rollers I've tried in the past.Using the TriggerPoint Grid Foam Roller regularly has helped me alleviate muscle soreness and prevent injuries. It has become a vital tool in my warm-up and cooldown routines, enhancing my performance and allowing me to train more effectively. The instructional videos provided by TriggerPoint are also a great addition, offering guidance on how to maximize the benefits of the foam roller. In summary, the TriggerPoint Grid Foam Roller is a fantastic investment for anyone serious about their athletic training, especially for martial artists like myself. Its thoughtful design, durability, and effectiveness make it a must-have for achieving optimal muscle health and performance.

This is an easy 5 star review review for me.I utterly love this product and would buy another in a heartbeat, should my current roller meet its tragic end saving children from a burning building. Yes, I believe it has the ability to do so. Let's start with some fundamental questions. Do you have a foam roller from [insert pharmacy here]? Does it have little divots from constant use after, say, a month? Better yet, are you looking for a roller and don't currently have one? Then have I got a sales pitch borne of personal experience for you.The thing is amazing. I'm on a physiotherapy routine where I have to stretch my quads 4-5 times a day. Since I'm used to it, I've now developed a routine where I roll my hip flexors, glutes, calves, and whatever else is sore along with them. I never miss a roll. After a month, my original roller was starting to bend, which made rolling feel slightly uneven. I hated the feeling and was thusly left with three options. 1. Suck it up (not really an option since I'm a bit of a princess) 2. Buy a dense foam roller, which is essentially a thicker version of your average roller, or 3. Buy the long lasting, semi-massaging Trigger Point Roller. I'm glad I went with the Trigger Point. Because of its construction, there's no way it can bend inward over time. I mean, it's a thin layer of synthetic material over a hard plastic tube... it just physically can't.I bought the 13-inch version, which is perfect for me. I can fit it in my gym bag and roll out after a hard workout. At 5'7", 135lbs, I can easily roll both quads at a time. Basically, it's large enough to accommodate any muscle that you require and small enough to transport with ease. If you know that you'll be rolling at home 100% of the time and have both the money and a large enough area to use, I'd recommend getting the 26 inch just because it's more to love of an already stellar product.Honestly, the fact that it feels like you're receiving a mild massage is a fringe benefit. Brass tax, this thing is an excellent roller and costs a fraction more what you'll already be paying for any other product. If you're looking for a serious roller, then look no further.Small bonus tip - If you find there's an area (lower back, hip flexors) that is a little hard to get deeply into with a foam roller, I highly recommend buying a lacrosse ball. They are unbelievably great for myofascial release (super cheap, too). For $10 bucks or less, they're among the best therapy tools I've ever owned. Update 11/19/2015: After a few months of use, the roller is showing zero sign of warping, and it's unlikely it ever will due to the construction materials; whereas, my generic pharmacy roller developed a major divot after only a month of use.Update 02/17/2016: Still using consistently. Still ZERO markings/denting. This thing is awesome.Update 09/02/2016: My physio therapist started stocking this exact model a couple of months back. He now purchases them over your ordinary blue rollers. If that isn't progress, I don't know what is.

i carry most of my stress in my shoulders and lower back and its gotten to the point where only really hard massages can help. i've scoured the city for good massage places ranging from overpriced spas to shady chinese joints, but rarely only few can deliver a satisfying massage. i finally found a masseur that can deliver a decent massage at a moderate price...but still it was a luxury that i can only afford once a month. after using this foam roller, i can say the massage i got is at least comparable if not better than the one i go to once a month!i got this with some hesitation, after all...how much can a piece of log help? but it was a goldbox deal, and due to the high ratings i've decided to give it a go. i am so freakin glad i did because this thing rocks!!!i didn't know how much i would enjoy using my own body weight for the massage this little thing delivers...i'm the type who like to just relax during a massage. i felt like this might feel more like a workout instead of a relaxing massage. however, this thing reaches muscle pain you didn't even know you had! The massage it brings feels so good and relaxing...therefore, the process of utilizing your own bodyweight virtually goes unnoticed!the size is also perfect, i live in an nyc apt so i dont have a lot of room. this foam roller is small but super good quality. the color is also really cool, which is an added bonus. i got the black one with a neon green interior, it looks sleek and modern and matches my decor.i leave it right next to my bad so i can just collapse onto bed after using it...thats how relaxed it made me feel. next time i'm gonna try a hot bath then use it...i think it'll be even more beneficial. bottom line, i'm so happy i made this purchase. it's totally worth the money and more! i would buy it again even at full price.

That's how my back sounded when I used this the first time.I purchased this to replace one of the cheapo rollers another reviewer recommended instead of this. I don't know where the guy found one for $10, but it isn't at a shop located in reality. Granted, I got two years of multiple daily use before I murdered my old roller, but this Trigger Point is about the same price after tax and that makes it a very good deal.I ordered black because I don't want a roller that slowly turns disgusting after using it for a while. Orange looks pretty, but it'll look like a homeless CalTrans worker in a month. The Trigger Point roller has made me an enthusiast once again of self-massage, er... rolling? As a bigger guy, I appreciate the rigidity of the inner tube and using this hurts about as much as the foam roller did when I first started using it. This provides a very deep massage and the foam covering seems to be fairly resilient. Just be careful what you pack it against: some dents from smashing against my running shoes took a long time to come out.For the different zones of massage, I can't say that it has any functional benefit. I can certainly feel a difference in density with my fingers, but when I'm rolling out my quads or ITB, I'm not sold. This is probably because my quads come from a decade of strength training and running. That's not to say I don't like it: the ribs and knobs provide good traction when using on a hard wood floor: after rocking on one knot for a while, my old foam roller would smash down a bit and just kind of skid. The Trigger Point grabs and rolls like an off-road tire. The size is also adequate. As in VERY adequate. Some people have said it's too small to roll the entire back at once. I don't have this problem, which is remarkable since I have to go through some doors at an angle because my shoulders are so broad. I can also get both of my hamstrings simultaneously. This has me wondering if some of the negative reviewers actually tried it out before reviewing. Now for the best feature: packability. I travel a lot for work and hated looking like a dork when getting out of a cab in front of a hotel, loading up my luggage, and checking in with a big foam pool noodle under my arm. The Trigger Point is short enough to easily fit in my carry-on duffle, and because it's hollow, it really doesn't take up much room. That, hands-down, would make up for any problems I could have with it not being long enough, which it totally is.Buy this if you know what's good for you.
