Pros: Easy to install, works perfectly,No drivers needed, comes with everything you need to install a nvme drive.Cons: the back of the nvme drive doesn't make contact with pcb so having thermal pad in-between the pcb and drive probably doesn't matter. Also since the nvme drive doesn't touch the pcb the thermal pad for the back of the pcb and backplate is also not important. I'm guessing if you somehow have a m.2 device that makes contact with the pcb then the thermal pads would make sense.Lastly no matter if I took off the back thermal pad or not i couldn't get the bottom left screw of the back plate to go in. Maybe I wasn't putting the card in the heat sink properly, I spent 10 minutes fidgeting with it trying to get the card in correctly but couldn't figure out why the screw wasn't connecting. I bet you could get a longer screw and you'd be able to secure it better. I ended up leaving the screw out which seemed un important and so far isn't an issue.I got my brother a WD nvme but found out after buying it that the second m.2 slot on his mother board wasn't for storage and wouldn't work with the drive. He had another pcie x16 slot so I got this expansion card and it works perfectly. For those like me he has a B450M Pro mother board which has two pcie x16 slots but the second one is only 2.0. I read online that the slot only being 2.0 would slow the drive down significantly but after installing the drive in the card and running a speed test I was getting 1500mbps which is the same speed as his Samsung 970 nvme in the m.2 slot. I'm not sure why the 970 is only that speed when it's rated much higher, maybe the motherboard doesn't support higher speeds. At the end of it all im very pleased with this product with how it work without any drivers and only took about 20 minutes to install which would have been more like 5 if I didn't try putting the back plate on backwards.

Es la mejor solución para colocar un SSD a tu PC si no cuentas con puerto M.2, funciona de manera correcta, solo hay que ensamblarlo y listo.

The box feels solid although 1 of 4 tiny black screens for the case backing plate did not have a thread to tighten into so I used 3 of 4 screws. Still felt solid. Had to use two of the thermal pads on top of the WD S570 500G NVME SSD to get contact with top of the cooling enclosure. Added 1/2 pad in the middle to get even contact. Pad is too thin to touch the backing metal piece so I did not use it on the bottom of the M.2 SSD. Windows 10 recognized it in the x4 slot automatically upon very first boot. Created a new Volume, quick-formatted it and ran the tests. PCIe x4 on my PCIe 2.0 MOBO has a max of 2Gbps. Test shows 1,618MBps reads and 1,337MBps seq writes. WD M.2 is supposedly rated for 3500MB read but I'm not sure if that's only true of large 1TB+ sizes. Note that a Ubuntu Linux Hyper-V VM created on this NVME shows 3.4G/3400MB/sec reads and 1.8G/1800MBps writes. Good enough for me to quit testing. Only draw back is that my old MOBO won't boot from it. Thermals: Runs at 29C at idle, got up no higher than 34C during the benchmark and 32C during a full cloning operation onto it from my other SSD. Overall, an outstanding value for $15 when it random reads and writes at least 10 times faster than a SATA3 SSD. See third line on green photo.

The adapter is very small, compact and beautifully constructed..comes with extra screws and mount post..I chose this type vs the ones that have a heat sink secured with clips that may damage ur nvme pcb board or worse yet ,some use rubber bands...Not this one... it sandwiches ur nvme in between 2 perfectly machined aluminum pieces and secures those together with 4 small screws..nothing can fall off nor will the nvme be scratched or damaged..you use the heat strips ,one under the drive and the other on top, then add the heatsink and screw it together..great design..it uses a 16x form factor for Stability and security in the slot but will utilize 4x of the lanes.. this is Normal and 4x gen 3.0 is the current design.. the pcie 4.0 drives are just coming out...if ur MB has pcie 3.0, then thats the best its gonna do and this adapter will let it do its best. temps seem decent though im new to using nvme, this is my 1st...idles at 46c and runs at 51c in a sff case...I used this with a dell optiplex 9020 to boot win 10 and mac catalina ,both on this nvme and using clover as a boot manager.. I had crazy hard difficulty getting it to even show up in clover...was not expecting that...I used this with an Evo 970 plus 500gb ,getting 3300/3130 read/write in windows 10 and 3000/2900 in catalina mac... overall pleased with performance..Highly suggest getting an adapter that utilizes a heatsink...these drives run hot
