If you have basic knowledge of NVMe SSD drives, you'll have no problem installing a drive into this PCI adapter. It comes with two chassis brackets of different heights to cover you if whether your PC has a half- or full-height chassis. I found that the full-height bracket fit properly into place without bending, forcing or fiddling. The adapter installed just fine and worked properly from the start. (If you have a brand new drive mounted in it, you'll probably have to go into Disk Management and attach the drive, format it and assign it a drive letter - if you don't know how to do those things, installing a drive with this adapter might be above your pay grade.)So - it was nicely made, installed easily, and the speed of an NVMe drive in a PCI slot - using one of these adapters - is amazingly fast!

Perfect, works fine on my small pcie slot and wasn't hard to get set up - very 'plug and play'. Nice and small, it even has a small low profile option too for smaller pcs. It read my 1tb m.2 perfectly which has given me quick read/write results as I joined it with a raid pool I have in my proxmox server. Overall it's built well, fast with my m.2, and does what it needs to do at an affordable price.

The expansion brackets indeed are poorly fitting. They're only held in place with a single screw.Leaving my motherboard (Asus X570) set to Auto PCIe generation negotiation or forcing Gen4, would cause long and/or unreliable POSTs, and no boot. Forced to Gen3, these adapters work just fine.I'm not planning on returning these, as they do work just fine @ Gen3 or lower PCIe spec. The heatsink is a nice plus, and they do include a nice selection of varying thickness thermal pads (that most other adapters neglect). After my immediate need with my 2 adapters in my modern system is done, they'll likely end up in legacy systems for Optane Page File and ReFind, etc. NVME bootloaders.

While the adapter looks nice and is a great price, it unfortunately is slightly too long and thus does not fit properly. When attempting to install, it will not fully slot into the pci slot and is held up by the full/half height metal bracket. It never fully seats into the pci slot. I also wish there were included instructions for this product.

I got this NVMe adapter because it was perfect for the x1 slot on my motherboard.Being an x1 connection, the NVMe SSD is limited to a maximum of 2GB/s or 16GT/s. Since the x1 slot on my mobo was a Gen3, the max speed was 1GB/s or 8GT/s and was more than enough for my needs. The size and fit were fine for a double-sided 2280 drive.I am not sure the heatsink is necessary at these slower speeds, but it is a welcome addition. The SSD is held in place with a separate screw from the heatsink if you decide not to use the cooler. With the heatsink, the adapter is heavy enough that you should use the support bracket.I did not have any fit issues with the full-sized bracket.

The fab will fit only the PCI if you DO NOT use the mounting bracket, however, without the bracket, the fab falls out of the slot. With the bracket, the fab is too long and does not align with the PCI slot as shown in the picture. Some design engineer messed up badly. Don't waste your time.

Nice PCIe M.2 adapter. I tested this on a machine with PCIe 4.0 to make sure I was getting full performance. Be aware that this is a PCIe x1 adapter, so you will not be seeing the full performance of PCIE 4.0 drives. I tested this with a WD SN850X 2 TB (a drive which, at its native x4 speed can reach 6GB/sec read), this adapter gives me 1.7 MB/sec. This is as expected, given that it's x1, so no problem with it. Just be aware.Beyond that, assembly and installation is simple. It's just a matter of attaching the backplate to the adapter with one of the included screws and plugging it in. The adapter is automatically recognized by windows and Windows sees it as a standard M.2 drive, as if it was plugged into the motherboard. There are several thermal pads included and the heatsink does a good job at keeping the drive cool. I recorded 41 degrees at idle and 64 degrees after a large file copy to the drive. All things considered, especially the price, this is an excellent adapter. Easily recommended.

Fits perfectly in a 1x slot. Cant deliver full speed but when you are bottlenecked by LAN (as in my server) not a huge loss. Love it.

After doing a lot of research into installing a 2TB SSD in my new HP Mini I settled in on this adapter. It went into an X16 PCIe slot along with a WD 2080 SSD card. That's the longest made. The only problem I had was the bracket for the back plane couldn't be mounted on the end of the adapter because the center support of the SSD was in the way. The threaded stem on the bracket was to long so I cut it off. So, I installed the adapter first and then the bracket, which made a nice tight fit. HA but it works.

Works great with the Samsung 990 Pro. I didn't need the Eluteng heatsink, as the Samsung drive comes with one. Installed in a PCIe x16 3.0 slot, it's super fast. Despite my older system, it was a huge upgrade from my 500GB Samsung NVMe. On my Z97 motherboard, boot time from the initial power-up to OS login is just 21 seconds.
