Product works but be prepared to spend a little time on it. Immediately I noticed I had to remove heat sink. Had I powered it as is it may have shorted out. Heat sink was not only just stuck on on with a blob of rtv (useless) it was against a couple of the soldered on circuits and crooked. I used a razor blade to carefully cut rtv and remove heat sink from bottom. I then cut it in half (direction of cooling fins) to allow me to place it on top of the components that need cooling using adhesive thermo pads. Once on my project I quickly realized that it wasn't charging and started adjusting the two potentiometers. I was able to finally get it adjusted to my liking and it seems to work fine. An awful lot of work is needed to get this thing working properly and it has no instructions with it. With that said it does seem to function well so far and I don't mind buying again but I certainly can't give it a great rating because of the work involved.

With a 25 to 75w PV panel, these little boards can be adjusted to make constant voltage at max possible tho current for nearly any project. High efficiency, simple, radio quiet circuit that just works. These can be used for remote 12v power systems, diy power banks, remote pumps or monitoring systems etc that are solar recharged or powered.

Is about the best I can say about it. You're better off grabbing a cheap PWM controller. There's no circumstance in which I'd recommend this board. It is not MPPT. It does not self-adjust/track. You can manually set the maximum power point voltage, but if your panels are ever in a non-optimal situation (not perfectly angled, overcast) then you will generate less power when compared to a basic PWM controller.Additionally - it seems to be inefficient. Given a 20 watt panel, I was able to pull a maximum of 17 watts (from panel into controller) but only about 14 from controller into the battery. Direct connection or a PWM panel realized 13 watts into the battery. Same issue applied with 60 watts of panels attached - it barely broke even compared to a directly connected panel/PWM controller.

With such a dangerous device the instructions need to at least be intelligible. The person who wrote these instructions was neither technically nor linguistically competent. There is a slightly better version of the instructions that can be found on the web, but those are also vaguely wrong. (Maximum *power* point tracking, not maximum "current" point tracking. Look at the graphs.)You can kind of fumble with it until you figure it out, but it's really not worth the time or the risk.Do not buy.

this works great once you figure out how to set it up. I fried the first one by setting the pots wrong but now i am charging my 3s6p battery at 17W with a 20W panel. Awesome. would be 5 star if it came with instructions to set the pots.

This device doesn't provide MPPT support. It might help somewhat, I don't know. What I do know is that it's not MPPT if you have to manually adjust the MPP voltage! (Maximum Power Point Tracking implies it does this automatically)That being said it does seem to work OK, but lacks AMP limiter. So it can't be used bare, and needs to be assisted by a dedicated battery charger circuit.
