This is such a great, useful item that I don't know why more people don't talk about it. I have pretty, lightweight curtains we use in the bedroom. My husband has to sleep during the daytime to his work schedule so I was looking into switching our curtains to black out curtains, but could not find any with the same cute style. I found these liners that can just attach to our existing curtains and they were perfect. They just clip on to any curtains and turn them into black out curtains. They would also work great for blocking out heat from the sun.The only issue I have run into is that sometimes they stick out from behind my curtains when you pull the curtains open since they are a little shorter than the curtain itself. However you can easily just adjust the liner in the back once you open them. Could probably fix this with a little pin or fabric tape on the bottom, but its not a big enough issue for me to worry about.Highly, highly recommend if you are looking to make existing curtains into black out style.

I actually purchased this as a temporary fix to my regular curtains in the summer. My regular curtains are also black out curtains but a little bit of light still leaks through.I bought a tension rod to use this additional layer directly in my windowsill. It keeps my room nice and cool!

Get these curtain attachments! I was on the fence, but I finally decided to try them since I’ve gotten quality nicetown products before. There weren’t any instructions in the package, so after some measuring, I deciding what would work best for the panel while keeping in mind that the wall doesn’t need blackout, and when opened there needs a little give. These are fairly thick fabric and have a good weight to them to need hooks scattered throughout to do some of the lifting. I’m planning on hanging the full curtains this week on a tension rod, so if I have any updates, I’ll come back to this to update.Since there were no instructions, I’m attaching a picture of the 3 main steps I used. There’s 2 sizes of these blackout panels at the time I’m ordering. It came with 2 panels. Mine came with 17 hooks and I found out why the extra.1) Take the pointy end and go through a top portion of the decorative curtain. I didn’t go to the very top to allow for puckering on the rod and thickness of the top of the decorative curtain.2) Bring the pointy piece back through like a safety pin, but don’t grab too much fabric or the hook will appear more on the decorative side. I found about 2 rows was plenty - if I grabbed incorrectly, I rubbed the linen fabric to return it to original. After putting all 8 hooks in, find a corresponding loop on the loop side of the blackout. Keep in mind not to tug the hooks during this process, or neither curtain will hang straight.3) once all of the duller side of the hooks are on the blackout loops, go through with a plier or similar and gently bend the open end towards the top of the curtain to bring everything more flush. If over bend, the hook will break - reason for the extra hook enclosed.

These are great for our nursery. They block light well but are not completely blackout. We use double sticky tape to help with gaps on the side of the curtains.

I purchased these blackout liners, which have worked great for 1-2 years. They do an excellent job blocking out light.I finally washed them and upon pulling them out from the washer, discovered a slimy film. I immediately rewashed them, and hung them to dry. They were not laid perfectly flat and the material stuck together. When pulling it apart, it tore some of the white fabric and left black spots from this torn material. I happen to have white curtains, so now either way I hang them, you’ll see black spots through my white curtains or from the outside of the house. Very disappointing.

Fantastic Liners! Please beware of the skeptics; I really don't think they are being fair. These liners are excellent (see attached pictures). I purchased, received, and hung them all in the same day and they're perfect. No ironing required. As advertised, there are 2 liners per package, and each liner is 27" wide. I'm not sure how this confused some of the previous buyers as the details are clearly written in the description. I purchased the "Grayish White" color (probably also known as Platinum). They do NOT fit the entire width of the curtain panels that I paired them with, but I expected that. If this is a concern when purchasing, I'd recommend purchasing the amount of panels needed to cover your entire curtain, and just overlap and pin them in the middle if you end up with more width than you truly need. For my particular application, I did not require more than the 27" width with my 36" wide curtains. I hang my curtain pole wider than the width of the window so that some of my curtains frame the sides of the window, and I have Plantation Blinds hung on the window. My goal was not to block the entire window, but to defuse most of the light when watching tv. The portion of the curtain that is not lined hangs in front of the wall, and of course, light passing through a wall is never going to be an issue. Please refer to my attached pictures (#3 & #4) to see how well these block light. The panel on the right is unlined, the panel on the left is lined -- you can see for yourself how very effective the liners are. In picture #5, you may see that the liners do not span the entire length of the curtain. This is great for my particular application because (as you may notice in the picture), my curtain has grommet hangers. If they matched the exact length of my curtain, this would have posed problem. Additionally, my curtain has a fairly wide hem (about 3" - 4"). My window does not reach the floor, so again, the wall works to block any light. However, keep in mind that a wide hem will sometimes work to block unwanted light, depending on the fabric of your curtains. Lastly, hanging the liners was fairly easy. I did not find the pins to be useless, as stated in previous review(s). They are typical drapery hooks/pins and were very easy to use. I simply attached them to the back of my curtain panels, then aligned the liner with my curtain as I wanted; then slid the hooks into the many provided loops found on the inside of the liners (see pictures #2 & #6). All in all, I am thrilled with these liners. They are worth every penny! For a mere $14, my very inexpensive curtains have been elevated to the appearance of a high quality drapery.
