I previously had polyester blackout curtains covering the two sets of windows in my bedroom. While they did an adequate job, they aren't very attractive and when I found white matelasse curtains to go along with a white matelasse duvet cover, I started looking for curtain liners. Unfortunately, the first set of curtain liners I bought were too narrow and even after tacking them on to the bottom of the rod pockets, 2-3 inches of the liners showed below the bottoms of the curtains. Fortunately, my bookcase headboard is in front of that set of windows, so it didn't show. I thought that since this set of liners was only 56" long, I wouldn't have the same problem. Unfortunately, when I followed the instructions which said to tie the rod pockets to the sewn-on braid, I had the same problem with the liners showing below the curtain edge so I again had to tack the liner to the top of the rod pocket. I added a star because it was much easier to tack the braid on to curtain. I decided to order three more of the 56" liners so that I could hang new curtains in my other bedroom only to find that that length is no longer in stock! And for some unfathomable reason, the other liners I looked at are 60" long so none of those will work unless I hem them. So, I guess I am back to looking for a presentable set of blackout curtains for my other bedroom!Update - It turned out for the best that the 56" curtain liners were not in stock earlier as I then found another vendor offering them in the same width and length but quite a bit cheaper. I just received those liners and they are the exact same item. Best to search for them by length because that's when that item showed up!

I hung them with Command Hooks, so they are not attached to my curtains, that way once winter is here I like to let the sunshine in during the day, but will be easily hung again at night. I washed them in cold water, hung to dry and then hung them on the window. No smell, these liners receive about 7-8 hours a day of full hot sun, and they have cooled the living room done by 3 degrees. Great product

I did a ton of research before purchasing blackout curtains. I needed them for my kids' room since all the leaves have fallen off the trees and it was difficult for them to nap. These slide onto our curtain rod behind our curtain easily and block almost all the light. They are easy to pull closed with the curtain and did not have any smell at all. I hung them up the day I got them and they have been working great, they are also nice and thick, which I like. Could not be happier!

I bought these to hang with some curtains I bought that were supposed to be blackout but definitely were not. The panels hung easily with the curtains and have certainly helped with keeping light and heat out. I live in the tropics and needed blackout curtains to control the midday heat in a south-facing window, and these panels have helped me do just that. They don't completely eliminate either light or heat, but they have helped a lot.

I had some concern about the possibility of outgassing and the odor it causes. These go in my bedroom but when I opened them there was little odor and that seemed more from the packaging than from the liners. In any case, I let them vent for a day or two in the garage before hanging them and received no complaint from my sensitive wife. The construction quality was fine with no stray threads and a good fit when installed. There is little more I could ask for from a blackout liner.

These are well made, and decent weight. They darken the room completely. (They feel like they might have a little heat-blocking quality to them, too, since they are thick.) They have rings on top, so no hassling with hooks like other brands. White on one side, grey on the other. (Don't know why.)NOTE: Be careful of the length - 77" length does not include the rings on top, which effectively makes the curtains longer than the stated measurement. (For example, the 56" liner fits up to 63" and the 77" fits up to 84"). I had to pin the bottom up to hide the excess.

These are just as the description states... hotel quality. They are thick and heavy. I use them attached to my drapery over a blackout roller-shade and the room becomes completely dark. I did not give five stars because the blackout material seems to come off at small spots very easily in the wash. (And we had to wash them because the condensation on our windows caused the liner to start to become moldy. I don't consider that a defect with the liner - just with our windows!)

I almost didn't buy this liner because of the reviews about the strong chemical smell. I'm glad I took the risk. My item doesn't have any strong smell and totally does the job.
