The 8 inch size includes the eye. Shank is 6.5 inches.

The bolts were dtrong and sturdy. However, they are plain and generic and pricey.The threading is only about an inch, maybe 1 1/2 inches. If you need full threading you need to look for another alternative.Overall the product is okay, but not great!

Actually, 3/8" screw threads on 5/16" rod stock, so it's only 70% as strong as if it was actually a 3/8" screw eye.It will work in my application, hanging a porch swing on 4 of these.David
