These chisels are an excellent value in a good quality tool. This is a 6 piece set that contains the following sizes: 6 mm (1/4), 10 mm (3/8) 12 mm (1/2), 16 mm (5/8) 20 mm (13/16) and 26 mm (1 1/32). They are ground at a 25 degree bevel. Blades are 4 3/4 inch to 5 1/2 inch long. Handles are black stained and lacquered European Beech are 5 1/2” long. Overall sizes range in length from 10 1/ inch to 11 inches. This was a gift for my husband. He was really pleased and said they were well oiled and good quality.

I purchased these for my husband as a Christmas gift. He always says the man with the most tools wins. Oddly enough, despite all the items he has in our three stall garage, wood chisels were not among them. I purchased these as a gift not really knowing too much about what makes these a good product, but they came in a very nice case, and they are extremely sharp. I highly recommend for your tool enthusiast.

I am extremely happy with the set. The chisels were very sharp right out of the box. After using a few of them several times they feel just as sharp as they were new and unused. The box is well-made and should last a long time. It keeps the tools from contacting other things that might dull them and the chisels don't slide around.

The holder in the middle of the box broke on the way, as usually happens to everyone. Luckily, the half of the box was not broken, only a couple of scratches. Fixable. The chisels themselves look very good, oiled and sharp. Delivery 3 days. I hope the Czech quality will live up to expectations.Thank you Narex.

Bought these after seeing them recommended on YouTube - they are beautifully made and nice and sharp right out of the box. Glad I bought the one in the box too as I could unscrew the lid and place it in a drawer keeping everything together.Nice tools and sharp tools make the work much more enjoyable

I am a hobby woodworker and have been for over a year now. I used the project source chisels from Lowes before getting these and I am AMAZED at the difference! They hold an edge well. They were good to go out of the box. They cant shave the hair off your arm but if your using the chisel correctly and taking small passes they are good to go. The handle is good quality. My only complaint is the silver ring on the toop. They all spin and none are secure but that does not affect the quality of these. The price is also amazing for the # of sizes you get, the decent quality storage box, and the AMAZING quality of these chisels. I am very happy with this investment. You dont have to spend $50 a chisel to get a good quality tool.Update: I lied, they do need honing for best use but still cut pretty well outta the box. If your a woodworker you'll be sharpening tools for the rest of your life so sharpening a new set shouldn't be an issue :)

Like other has stated, this is professional set at the price accessible to common folks. The box is as beauty as the set themselves. I found the box is well made, keep the chisels in their place without rattling-keeping their edge. This is a good gift set for any woodworkers; 6 pieces are the right number for gifting. Beautiful chisels and hardness on the edge; their backs are hollow correctly as well. I did have to put another coat of oil on handle as the factory staining need another good coat of protective oil which I can do myself. Overall extremely very happy of my Narex chisels for their price as well.

I purchase a set, and they looked great, except for one problem. One of the metal rings was loose and moved when using the chisel, and the manufactured stamp looked weird. I purchase another set, with a similar issue on another chisel, so I swapped for the ones I needed and sent one set back. After that, these are great chisels. Fairly sharp when you get them, but will need a good sharping to hone it in. They look great, feel comfortable. Very happy with this purchase.

Good chisels the 12 mm chisel looks like it missed the last sharpening stage possibly as it was rather dull. Took care of that with some time on the sharpening stones. Also unfortunately the wood case was damaged in transit and was unsalvageable. Luckily for me I never planned to keep them in the case so that was not to big of a deal.

I would consider this to be a fine set for the beginner and expert alike. The six chisels provide you with a good variety of widths suitable for most applications. I found that the protective coating that the chisels are shipped with was easily removed with a little acetone. The markings on the steel are printed, not etched into the steel, so they will wipe off when removing the coating. The steel is very hard so, out of the box, the set-up might take a little longer than a softer steel chisel. The backs weren't as flat as others that I have bought, meaning that you'll need to invest some time there. This was the only negative that I found, but not severe enough to affect the 5 stars. Fortunately for me, the chisels that I received all had slightly concave backs, so the flattening didn't take as long as it would if you have convex backs. They are manufactured with 25 degree bevels, so if you prefer a different bevel angle (I prefer about 30 degrees, with no micro bevel), plan on a little work before you jump into any woodworking. If you want some advice for setting up your chisels, I would recommend checking out Paul Sellers on YouTube. After achieving the proper set-up, I found that they hold a sharp edge for quite a while. I'm no metallurgist, but I understand that they will hold an edge even longer after a few sharpenings. Something to do with the hardening process during manufacture. The thickness of the steel is a little more than what you might find with "premium" chisels, but that didn't affect the performance in a negative way. They are well suited to cleaning up dovetails and for cutting mortises and shaving tenons and dados. The handles are a good size and shape and are comfortable. I applied a little BLO to mine, just for a little protection. There is a wood nub at the top of the handle, so if you like to use the "palm hammering" method, you might leave a welt on your hand. I like to use a soft-face hammer (don't use a metal hammer!). You can pay (a lot) more for the "premium" chisels, but, in my opinion, you don't need to. With proper set-up and care, these should last a lifetime.
