  • Designed with an automatic level function, can automatically identify the level to avoid errors.
  • The easy-to-read swing-arm pointer and extra wide stable base provide an accurate test result.
  • Fit for brackish and marine aquariums. Perfect for testing both salinity and specific gravity of your brackish and marine tank.
  • The outside rang of scale indicates salinity(PPT). The inside range of scale indicates gravity. And with safe zone clearly indicated.

Fit for brackish and marine aquariums. Perfect for testing both salinity and specific gravity of your brackish and marine tank.

Specification:

2 x Salinity Tester

Note:
Instructiins for use:
1. Fill slowly to level line bydipping below water surface. Avoid turbulence which may cause air bubbles to attach to pointer.
2. Air bubbles which are attac-hed to pointer must be dislodged to obtain accurate reading. After filling hydrometer with water sample, gently tap pointer with a pencil to dislodge any bubbles that may remain on pointer.
3. Read specific gravity on inside scale, any salinity in parts per thousand(ppt) on outside scale. Be certain that water surface is parallel tolevel line. For most marine aquariums, recommended specific gravity should be 1.020 to 1.023
4. Rinsse with fresh water after use.

I bought the pair and every time when i try them both in the same water thet each give a very different reading. Not sure if one other both were not calibrated correctly but im not sure I can trust either one.

Ok so, if you’re relying solely on this as a measuring device, then that’s gambling. I have refractometers and an icecap salinity pen tester. But let me tell you why I keep buying these hydrometers. Cuz I don’t want to keep squinting after calibration, waiting for 45 sec for temp adjustment and squint for testing with refractometers. With pen testing they drift, and you don’t know when or why they drift. So I use those to get my salinity right on these hydrometers. I scoop test water, knock out the air bubbles and watch it. And when done, I empty and scoop RO water if not reading anything for the moment. When I’m done, I empty it and dry it sideways so the swing arm dries freely. These are consistent but the numbers are not accurate. So I marked my own. Hope this helps.
