Not accurate, hard to read and I have good vision. Petco had the instant ocean meter on sale. Returning this hunk of junk.

I am so sorry I purchased this for our new saltwater aquarium. It is so inaccurate that in the process of trying to get the salinity right, trusting this product, we lost 3 $50 fish. When I got the water to be what I thought was .026, when I had it tested at the store, it was over .30. So I diluted the aquarium, and the tester said it was only .20, so I added more salt and killed two more fish. When I had it tested again at the store it was still over .30. I bought a Coralife and it is so accurate, I'm sorry I didn't buy that first. To prove to me the inaccuracy of this product, the store took 6 of them and every one was a different salinity. Not a single one was accurate.

WHOA. This thing is all over the place. I’ll take a sample from my aquarium that will read 1.015. I’ll take another sample from the same aquarium and get a reading of 1.035. I’d test over and over and over, each time getting something totally different. It’s widely inaccurate and in no way can be trusted to test reef tank or fowlr tank salinity.

It was the cheapest one I could find, sadly a case of “get what you pay for” there was some excess plastic on and around the ‘hinge’ of the measurement arm which I couldn’t remove. No confidence in the accuracy.
