What is different between this and a NuTone, if that is the one you had before, is that it comes apart. It could be the light can be replaced. The portion with the screws, if it comes loose, just line it up and twist it and there are little grabbers so that retain the two sections. I had my old one since 2008. At first the light burned out and then the button would stick turning the ring into a buzz. Conceivably you could replace it in five minutes or less. Fortunately Morris took over production. These are great, and very attractive door bell buttons. Also, mine is wood siding not stucco, but it mounted the same. I used the pointed tip of a pie server to lift the edge for removal.

I noticed my old doorbell was literally disintegrating. Pics 3 & 4 are the old doorbell. The big box stores didn’t have anything like it. This doorbell not only fit into the existing hole in the stucco, but it lights up in the dark. It was fairly easy to pull the wires off the old one and attach them to the new one. With a bit of manipulation I got it pushed into the wall and I have a shiny new doorbell.I don’t know how long that shine will last. It seems to be about the same quality as the old one, which lasted about 40 years, so I think it’s good enough.

The contact screws were tightened down so much I couldn't loosen to attach the wires without breaking it. Fragile and over priced.

Almost Perfect replacement for my original 1972 doorbell button. This one has a light that makes the button show in the dark. Replacement was fairly easy. I only have use of one hand, which makes a lot of simple projects difficult for me. But I got it done. The actual switch part is put together with a sort of bayonet, twist & lock design, which gave me some trouble while attaching the wires. I'd get it all connected, then when inserting the assembly into the tube in the stucco the wires would twist the thing apart & I'd have to start over. If I ever have to do this again, I'm going to glue the switch part together so it can't pop apart. The doorbell works perfect now. I removed one star only because it's not nearly as well made as my old 1972 button. (which was still working, but the metal core of the button was showing through the plastic & some people thought there was danger of a shock) (not enough voltage though)
