I already own two pairs of monoprice retros with custom pads so I'm a big fan of the old ones.As far as the new ones I have to say I'm disappointed for 2 reasons:1) 3 meters long Proprietary cable - will be a huge hassle to replace when it breaks or if I need a shorter one2) I was hoping they'd improve the pads. Nope same as the old ones. Will replace but still..Sound profile is pretty much the same as the old one. Will just mod retros for wireless and return these ones..

I loved the Monoprice Retro so I knew I would love these. Can't beat Monoprice's quality! I game, watch movies and listen to music with these. Even do some editing. They're great for everything!

Main use is music record listens. Looks really retro, I feel strong build for daily use. Also for connected to an electric amp. While practicing with the guitar. For me is a great headphone very similar to some AKG.

I was replacing an old pair of Fostex headphones and came upon this model. I am very impressed with the sound and comfort. It even comes with an adapter so I can use it on my digital piano headphone which is what I mainly use it for. I can also use it with my iPhone with a lightning adapter (not included). I think j these would be hard to beat at any price point, and certainly are a great value for the money.

I am not an audiophile or someone that uses headphones in a studio setting. As a casual user who mostly watches youtube videos and listens to metal, I wanted something cheap and similar to the "Monoprice Modern Retro Over Ear Headphones" which do not seem to be in stock anymore. Unfortunately, my unit of Modern Retro started giving me issues where the audio was not working well on the right side, forcing me to shift the cable to get sound back on that side.Since the Retros were no longer in stock, I decided to go with something similar and found these "SR Studio by Monoprice" headphones. After using them for about a week, I find them to be an improvement over Modern Retro for a few reasons.First, the cups are much more comfortable and sit on my ears better. I know people tend to replace the cups with betters ones, but as a casual user it is not something I really care to do and I am happy when headphones are comfortable out the box.Second, the headphones come with a detachable cable. This is great because I have a feeling that this feature may mitigate the issue I had with the Modern Retros with the cable going bad and having faulty audio on one side and not having the option to detach it.Third , the sound quality is great for my needs. They might be around the same or better than the Modern Retros. Not sure if I can tell the difference, but the sound quality is at least the same, not worse.
