We are using these to run signal from our sound booth computers to a projector at the front of the auditorium over Cat 6 (?). It works flawlessly, and only having to power the sending side is priceless. We do have a long HDMI run as a backup, but this is just so simple and effective, and the HDMI often doesn't work for some of the smaller Macbooks on a run that long.

When I plugged this in initially to view a server from another room on my desk monitor, it did not show up. I had to fiddle with the display settings for the video card in order for picture to show up. After that though, it worked flawlessly! My one gripe is that the unit that is being powered by the wall wart is very hot like others mention. This is simply a byproduct of what the processing in the onboard chip is doing, but something to be aware of.

Nifty little box let me extend 4k video + audio by 100ft using Cat8 Ethernet.

My projector already had one HDBaseT connection, but I was using that for our camera switcher system. I needed another long distance HDMI connection for people using laptops or Blu-Ray players. I tried the regular HDMI extenders, but they were very hit and miss and would constantly lose sync, no matter what cables I used. Then I looked around and found this pair. Wow, what a difference. The boxes may be a little wider, but they mount well, and have enough information on them you can see what is going on, and even better, they support POC (Power Over Cable). Meaning you only need one power adapter to power both sides. It doesn't matter which side either, so in my case, I have plenty of room in the ceiling for the wall wart and HDBaseT receiver, but down below I want to keep things neat and uncomplicated. By putting the power up in the ceiling, I have one less cable down below, prevents people from screwing with stuff, and a high quality HDMI extender always ready. The signal is also travelling on a standard CAT5e wire! No shielding, no CAT6 and their finicky RJ-45s... They cost double what the "cheap" HDMI extenders, but #1, that still isn't much and #2, well worth it.

After attempting to use what I assumed to be an adequate HDMI cable (run through the walls when the house was built 7 years ago) to connect my AV receiver to a ceiling mounted projector, I was disappointed to find out the cable simple couldn't support the data throughput needed to run 4K. Luckily we also had a Cat 5e cable run with the HDMI cable. I was skeptical at first on how well this would perform and even more skeptical when I found out that either the transmitter or the receiver was powered over the Cat 5e cable by the the other unit. Plugged it all in and it worked like a charm! haven't had any issues and love that I didn't have to provision power for it at the projector. Only concern I have is how hot the units gets when in use. Almost unable to handle kind of hot. Just hope that heat doesn't result in life-loss down the line.

Replaced a pair of J-Tech extenders that could not handle 4K@60Hz with a CAT5e cable run of only about 40 feet. Swapped in the Monoprice units and all is working without a glitch, including IR support. This model must have been upgraded to 4K@60 at some point. I found the printed manual to be out of date - it stated 4K-2K (4K@30) as the max spec, but does appear to be handling 4K@60. Also, there seems to be some confusion as to whether the IR components are included. They were included in the package in my case - one IR receiver and one IR emitter.

Woks well if you don't need the ARC function

I have a long HDMI run from my TV to my LG OLED 4k TV. I was getting pixelation and occasional signal drop. I tried a signal booster but no luck. I so wanted this to work but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work at all. I reached out to Monoprice and they suggested I try this HDMI. This cable worked whereas my other failed. It even carried ARC at distance -- HOSS Installer Grade Active High Speed HDMI Cable, 4K HDR, 18Gbps, 24AWG, CL3

These little things are built very well and seem to be working great now for the 1st week, I will update this as time passes, but overall very good build quality and the picture is great, The IR Repeating is a nice feature, would have been nice for MP to include the IR Receiver and Emitter but I understand at that price point, that's not an option.I would say if you are looking at other 4k video over cat5/6 I would buy this over the other units, very good quality unit.
