Bought this to measure the dampness in front of our dishwasher after discovering a slow leak. The batteries that came with it were completely dead so luckily I already had some extra batteries. Product worked as it should and we have no complaints.

Danke.Es erfüllt vollständig seine Aufgabe.Die Vergleichswerte zur der Feuchtigkeit in Wänden sind in Ordnung.Es konnten die Stellen gefunden und die Trocknung überprüft werden.Die Messwerte sind nachvollziehbar. Von trocken zur feuchten Stellen.Wie bei allen Messgeräte dieser Art, nur bei einem bleiben für die Messungen und nicht mit verschiedenen Geräten arbeiten, denn untereinder sind immer Abweichungen.Mit dem Messgerät wird eine größere Fläche zum Messen benötigt, als die Geräte mit der Kugel.Bei meinen Messungen auf Wänden ist das mit der Auflagefläche kein Problem.Das Gerät ist gut zum Ablesen.

Seems to work until you realize that it all depends on the air temperature, and the relative humidity in the air. I can test the same piece of wood in the morning, the afternoon, and evening and get 3 completely different readings. It would show at 8% then a couple hours later 18%, then a 3rd reading would be >25%. It's all over the place.

If you are looking for highly accurate measurements of wood moisture levels, you will need to buy a much more expensive meter. For the price, this one works fairly well. Don't expect a meter that will tell you the exact moisture content of lumber. This is better suited to seeing relative levels of moisture, or general measurements.For the average woodworker, I think the best use will be to take periodic measurements on new or green wood that you have brought into your shop and wait until the readings stabilize to know the wood has acclimated. You can also check the center of boards to see if they are drying at similar rates to the ends.It is very sensitive to how much pressure you apply during measurements. When measuring the same spot on a board, I let the meter rest on the board light pressure, then pressed more firmly and the measurement would change by as much as 2 percentage points (repeated multiple times with the same results). When taking multiple readings on the same place using the same amount of pressure, you can get consistent readings so the meter itself is repeatable - just very sensitive to operator variation. This will also cause a big impact on readings taken between boards that are rough cut VS those that have been surfaced.
