The shower stem was exactly what I needed to repair an older Moen shower diverter valve. The original valve had seized and did not come out easily. Once I was able to remove the seized original valve, I was able to clean out the location that the valve goes into, lube the valve well, and then insert the valve. No leaks and now the shower diverter valve functions as it should. If you are looking for DIY information on the faucet system as well as tips to ensure the job proceeds well, visit Moen's website. The valve was a perfect fit for my 20+year old MOEN shower diverter valve. It took about 10 minutes to replace and the "leak" (i.e water coming from the faucet when diverter in shower position) has been fixed.

If you had the unfortunate day that you need to change this type of shower deverter then I feel your pain. The easiest way to remove old part is to soak spray apply panetrating oil to old part let it soak, then use a slide hammer. I find it to be the easiest way out.

It was easy to install and it worked perfectly. Just make sure that you clean out the faucet and diverter pipes with a tooth brush or some other small brush before you install them. Mineral deposits can form in the pipes and cause the faucets and diverter to leak. I would definitely buy it again.

This diverter didn't do the job for us, and the water keeps coming both in the tub and the shower. Disappointed.

The product were for replacement parts in the shower. The great thing was that they were original parts so fixing was a snap. The bad part was they took 3 weeks before they were delivered.
