I received one of these as a gift more than a few years ago. I have NOT boiled a pan of water for pasta since then! The ease of use and convenience are unequaled. Perfect for steaming vegetable as well. A friend was here and commented on it recently--she was quite impressed. I purchased this one for her and called her today to tell her it had arrived so she didn't get one for herself. She is ecstatic--shopping for one is on her to-do list so glad I called to whittle down that never-ending list!! lol

I tried making spaghetti with this. The pasta did not work out very well. I like boiling in a pan of water better where I can see the degree of done. However, for steaming Broccoli this thing works very well. Broccoli is forgiving so you can load it up, add water and microwave. I guess other veggies can be similarly steamed. It even worked for carrots which was a surprise. The holes make draining the hot water easy after cooking. Now there is no excuse for making steamed vegetables.

My 10-year-old granddaughter told me she wanted to cook pasta in the microwave but I always cooked on the stove. When I saw this I ordered it for her to try as I had already convinced myself that this would not work. It is sturdy, but the plastic top could be made heavy as the plastic lid feels a little cheap. I let my granddaughter use it the first time and I was surprised that the spaghetti came out just the way we liked it. I have been using it for a little over a month and find it steams vegetables great also. I recommend giving this a try.

Made pasta perfectly in the microwave for the first time using this. As stated in the listing, follow the instructions and you won't be complaining in reviews. While the instruction manual doesn't reference what the assumed wattage of the microwave is, I assumed it was 1000 and adjusted accordingly. I have a 1200W microwave so I'm used to making adjustments.

Ok, this thing is great for steaming veggies or making small amounts of pasta but it has issues. If you make a full serving of pasta and cook it according to the instructions it tends to bubble over in the microwave. To help prevent this I tend to cook it on high for 5 minutes then drop it to 70% power for the next 6 minutes (I add another minute to recommended). Your microwave may vary. Using the lid (recommended) helps but doesn't prevent the boiling over. It's marginally faster than using the stove top for the same functions and is slightly better or worse depending on your available cookware. Watch for steam burns when using the top to strain what you cooked because the water will be hot.

This microwave pasta boat does exactly what it promises! The plastic feels sturdy and durable, and the clear measurement markings are a nice touch, making it super simple to get the water-to-pasta ratio just right.I originally got this for my kids so they could make quick pasta or steamed veggies without needing to use the stove, and it’s been a win all around. It even comes with a little instruction booklet, which was surprisingly helpful for setting cooking times for different foods.Overall, it’s easy to use, easy to clean, and helps whip up a meal in minutes. If you’re looking for a convenient pasta cooker, this one’s a solid pick. 👍
