Simple yet strong, the Dover Mail Post serves as a perfect and warm invitationto retrieve your mail at the end of the drive. Mayne mail posts install easily over a standard 4x4 wood post. Bury about 2-3ft in the ground and leave 4ft above the ground. Slide the decorative sleeve over the post, attach the paper holder arm to the post, and then secure your mailbox of choice to the arm. Mailboxes can be bolted directly to this arm using a standard nut and bolt combination.

White post looks good but the paper box came in black. I cannot put this up because it violates HOA policy.

I was kind of scared buying something so expensive and large off of Amazon, but its legit! Pretty, doesn't get dirty very easily despite being white, and it's sturdy!I know that it's impossible to get a wooden post for this price, but yeah, my family was slightly sad it was fully plastic. At least that means it'll be easy to maintain!I can't comment on installation, we hired someone to do it for us.

Looks amazing and really sturdy, the 4x4 goes all the way to the top of the post unlike many other pvc posts I have seen, makes it extremely sturdy great for Florida hurricanes!

LOVE the way this looks!!! I had to order this darn thing from three different sellers to actually get my hands on one, but it was so worth it! Easy to assemble and seems heavy duty.However, the lack of hardware to mount the mailbox AND the lack of hardware to mount the post to a 4x4 wooden post was a big disappointment. I understand not including the mailbox mounting hardware, as they cannot anticipate what kind of mailbox people will use, but not including mounting hardware to the post is a big miss. The post will not stay still without it, so this is a must and was a big negative.However, the post looks great. Super happy with it.

Ok. So I purchased this after reading through all the reviews and I'm glad I did. My husband and I installed this and mailbox in less than 30 min!!! We used a 1/4" drill bit to predrill holes in the arm to accommodate the mailbox that we used. The bolts, washers, and screws to mount this cover were all included in the package. We literally just installed this over the 4x4 that we already had in the ground since it was in pretty good shape, which made installation so much easier. The screws that came with it were a bit cheap and actually stripped out before they even touched the 4x4. We had some 3 1/2 wood screws on hand so we just used those instead. Worked fine! Also, I boi g ht 2 3/4" numbers which fit perfectly.Literally my ONLY complaint is that the top edges of the arm/newspaper holder where the mailbox sits were pretty rough. They were frayed and uneven.. if that makes sense. We could have used a box cutter or sandpaper and sanded it down so it was smooth, but we didn't since the mailbox was sitting on top of it anyway. It's not noticeable. But I'm mentioning it bc I feel like it's a careless mistake to have not smoothed out the surface since this post cover is a bit on the pricey side.All in all, we love this post cover! It adds the curb appeal that we were hoping for.
