The toilet seat is well made, quite strong and super easy to install. It took me about 5 minutes to remove the old one and install this nice slow close seat. I think it's a great overall seat at a very reasonable price.

I read the reviews of this product and looked great. On fitting I found the these do not fit UK toilets, as the fittings are not wide enough apart (so ends up bending the fittings making it not fit). I have 3 different toilets and doesn’t fit any of them.Otherwise a great idea and good quality, but seems to be make for another market.

This seat installed easily onto my elongated bowl commodes. They soft close seat and lid are perfect, and the single hinge across the entire width makes it much easier to keep clean without removing the seat. The seat can still be easily removed for extra deep cleaning. The hinge mechanism is well made and the seat does not move or wiggle out of place like the seats I was replacing. Overall, I am very pleased with the Mayfair Preston single hinge toilet seats!

This is a good toilet seat and the price was reasonable. We needed 3 and they didn't break the bank, and they had favorable reviews. They are a good value for the price - since when did toilet seats start costing so much?!? These feature the soft close, which is a big win. The negatives, however, take one star off a 5-star rating. These toilet seats move all over the place, no matter how tight the connection. They probably need foam or something to keep them in place. Another negative is that the little clip covers for the connection are a BEAST to unlock to clean. Other than those two issues so far, they are decent and will do the job for now.UPDATE: These toilet seats will be replaced. The clips are impossible to open and the connection on all of them does not stay as tight as they should, so the toilet seats move around and don't stay where you want them to. It may be the plastic pieces that are being used? It's too bad - the price was decent for soft-close seats but the moving around is annoying and the clips have not gotten any looser.

I needed to replace the seat on my American Standard Cadet round bowl toilet. Most of the reviews of toilet seats in the big box home centers had a lot of poor reviews. I saw this seat had a lot of very favorable reviews. I am glad I bought it. It is great. It feels very solid. The hinges seem very durable. It was easy to install but I did have one hiccup. The seat kept moving. I tightened the nuts. It moved again. Finally I realized that I did not press the hinge covers down all the way. I pressed down on them, a good click for each. The seat stayed in place when I tightened the nuts. A 5/8 combination wrench made the install a little easier. I am very satisfied with this seat . The soft close feature is nice. No loud dropped toilet seats in the middle of the night any more. I may order another to put on my other toilet.

I bought this for someone else so I have no idea how it will perform installed. I did test its function on a countertop by holding down the hinges; smooth and slow closing. An encouraging part of this Warehouse Deal was the remnant of a Return label which had been cut off; good to know that returns are being put back into inventory at a little over 1/2 the cost of new.

Suppose I'll comment on the "Unique" pieces as to why I chose this one as opposed to others.Closing: Slow & NiceOne of the main things I wanted. Annoying when you're not paying attention and "BAM!" Toilet seat just slams down at Mach Speed, shattering porcelain and scaring every fluffy critter in the nearby vicinity into running and hiding under your bed in fear as they cower over the sound of crackling thunder within the household - which clearly heralds the beginning of an attack by an Angered Olympian God.This one? Nice. Once it was bolted in it just kind of slowly lowers itself - just be wary of the aforementioned fluffy critters who may view it as an opportunity to explore the untold depths of the potty!Cleaning: Diet DependentAmazon asked me to rate this one. Uh... it's a toilet seat. Could be super easy or a nightmare to clean depending on a variety of factors that I feel I would be better off not detailing within this review. But if you're feeling spicy - feel free to go searching!Installation: Super simple.Had all the items and things needed to install. Hand tightening so didn't even need to worry about any tools (or possibility of a tool cracking your toilet!)Issue: Minor Break on ShippingOne of the hinges had snapped/come loose in shipping. But I could still just snap it on top - and they're just the little things that sit on top so you're not staring at a screw behind your seat so the extent that elicited from me was a shrug and an "Oh... It looks nice. It’s better than wood. It seems much more stain resistant. However, our fitted toilet cover would nor fit due to the lid design. The back is too high. Also, this toilet seat was very difficult to install. Fortunately, I was able to find someone who tightened it up. That was embarrassing! And one more thing, I cannot sit on it when the lid is closed because the lid will begin to slide off of the seat. That is not sturdy to me at all! I am a man who weighs 179 pounds. I could definitely sit on my old wood cover. I do like the slow close feature though.In conclusion, I want to use my fitted toilet lid cover. Besides looks, the cover protects the plastic toilet lid from the heavy, ceramic tank lid. The new plastic lid is gloss white and easily scratches. I had to put clear, adhesive grommets on the toilet lid where it meets the tank lid in order for it not to scratch. I do not recommend this product as it is now made. Maybe the manufacturer will read this and make the needed changes? It needs to be sturdier and allow a toilet cover to fit.
