I didn't choose this for super loud stereo...I also didn't choose it for it's claimed 180w max (more about that later). I chose this cause I wanted and needed a waterproof AM FM Bluetooth and very compact stereo. This covers that well. Why AM??? Well cause I find that for me after the FM stations fizzle I can still get AM most times... sometimes I want to listen to talk radio. The compact head unit for me was/is absolutely a non negotiable issue my center console has limited room and limited options for mounting due to its space saving design. This unit gives me a compact way to entertainment when the fish are not paying attention... or when traveling to the fishing destination and I don't wanna listen to my fishing buddy. As I'm often alone when fishing some human noise is nicensometimes...and weather alerts are important when on the water. Please note the box shows black stereo and black speakers...but as the picture shows it is black stereo head unit and white speakers... lol yeah. On the plus side the black head unit and white speakers is exactly what the seller pictured online and what I ordered so I very happy with this.Anyhow about the 180watts Max thing.... most stereo manufacturers list Max wattage and RMS wattage. MAX is what the whole system can do for a fraction of time across all frequencies. RMS is what the system can sustain continuously and do so well. I pay almost zero attention to MAX watts...cause it doesn't matter. Instead I look to the fuse and multiply the fuse amps by the volts that power the system So...10 amps 12 volts would be 120 watts... if the equipment is 100 percent efficient that would work but odds are... the actually output would be 15 to 30% of that number as RMS. I don't know this systems RMS but it sounds good to me at the sound levels I want and expect to use.

I'm completely refitting the wiring and electronics on an old boat, and I love the fact that this stereo is so compact. The controls are "mostly" intuitive, though I hope I'll be able to keep from losing the instructions for a few actions, like disconnecting the current Bluetooth device and such. The included speakers give reasonably good sound, although i'm sure they'll benefit from some form of speaker enclosure. The low end is a bit lacking. They're also pretty directional from up-close; we'll see how they are once installed. The wiring pigtails coming out of the unit are pretty thin gauge wire, except for the main power + and -. I'm going to run heavier wire out to my speakers, instead of the included cables to reduce loss and improve the power that actually makes it to the speakers.Overall, I'm happy with this unit and speakers, having tested a couple others and decided against them for my boat. I'll update if anything changes.
