Pan is nice and heavy material. Filters don’t fit the stand and are very cheap. Don't waste time trying to use them! I thought metal pail was included for the funnel thing to fit on but it wasn’t. I’m not really sure if the pan was worth the price.I also think the thermometer should be positioned farther into the pan. Didn’t give a good reading and syrup overcooked. Don’t use for finishing syrup. Will be using again to boil in the fire instead.

Received the item and everything looked good. Filled it with sap and found that I had a pin hole leak on one of the edges. Had to ask a friend a favor and have him repair it. Shouldn’t have to repair a brand new item but I have a lot of sap to get started on

Two years ago I bought a larger (18x34) pan with dividers and a warming pan from a local manufacturer. I paid significantly more than this one. This addition will allow me to increase my boiling to two pans. I use a converted 55 gallon drum stove lined with firebricks for the arch with the top cut off and rails welded in place to hold the pans. The build quality of this pan is pretty good. The welds and bends are all good and the stainless steel is thick enough to be pretty rigid. The tap threads in easily enough, although it is a touch too close and can bind up against the side of the pan slightly. An appropriately sized washer would probably resolve this, or you can just force it. It did come with a washer, but I placed it on the inside to seal against - maybe they intended to put it on the outside.I really like the included thermometer mounting tab (really a hole drilled in a gusset in the corner). This helps hold the thermometer in place but allows you to remove it as needed (such as for cleaning). My previous pan did not include this which makes it harder to monitor the temperature. The included filter basket is a nice addition. There are some thin prefilters that come with it, but you will probably want to add a synthetic felt finishing filter as well. You can get a cone shaped finishing filter that fits the included basket. All told, this is a great beginner pan, and the price is amazing for what you get.

Pretty solid Evaporator pan. We have a few maples around our home and want to try our hand at sap boiling. I'm planning on buying a 50 gallon barrel, getting the mounts for it, and installing this on it. there's plenty of guides online for doing this. I'm planning on using an old metal pot for a pre-warmer that I'll place on the chimney with some offsets to let air through. I've read great things about it and its pretty cheap to do. This piece should work great. Its got folded edges so they won't cut you, a thermometer that's easily replaceable if it goes bad, and a nice spigot off the side for draining. I'm pumped to try this.
