My husband of 43 years passed away in 2019 from agent orange from the vietnam war. I just found a couple of vhs tapes one of his retirement from the navy and the other from when we renewed our wedding on our 25th wedding anniversary which was 9/11/2001. I found this vcr on amazon and thought I'd take a chance. My grandson hooked it up and we got to watch both tapes. My grandchildren can now see their grandfather's retirement. it works great. thank you so very much for bringing back my memories.

I thought it had a problem out of the box but we contacted the seller and he figured out we had it hooked up wrong. Be aware the VCR only works though the old red/white/yellow av cables. You may need an adapter for newer TVs

This is a basic machine, which works well even though used. Am glad these are still 'out there!' The good fortune is that the remote to our 'younger' Magnavox (broken) works with this one! It does not have any 'bells and whistles, such as recording (a feature included with our other Magnavox), but it is a very user-friendly unit and just what we were needing right now.

It plays DVDs and VHS tapes, so it does the basics that it should. The negatives:* It didn't come with a remote. I have a universal remote that I programmed to work with it, but it's not 100% compatible with the universal remote.* It has no coaxial cable connection for input or output. This makes it more difficult to connect to an older TV and it can't work as a pass-through for an antenna.* The overall quality is so-so.
