These filters are physically thinner than the brand name filters, so there is less surface area. However, they still work well to increase humidity levels. I do notice they don't last nearly as long as the name brand filters, and I need to replace them more often, but even with the reduced lifespan, they are still cheaper than going with the namebrand. I would guess I need to replace them nearly twice as often as namebrand, but these filters are less than half the price.Basically the cost per season compared to namebrand will be less with these filters even if you have to buy more of them. Not a lot cheaper, but every bit helps

Buying these individually at local retailers is not cost effective. These are perfect for my humidifier and cost is best.

This filter is compatible, but has a tendency to sag in the humidifier. You have to get it to wrap "just right" so that the channels in the humidifier will hold it up. Once you master that, it's a good product. It's not a single continuous (sealed?) piece that slips on, you have to wrap it - maybe if it had some pins or snaps to hold it closed it wouldn't sag.

I need the filters for the larger MAF 1 unit and could not find them so I ordered these. They are shorter, but do work.

Fits perfectly, and does what it says. However, it is very noticeable as far as not doing as good as job as the name brand filter. Stops wicking sooner and does not last as long. We run it on hi and can’t get above 40, to where the name brand got above 50 if needed, for a 1000sf space. If you have a smaller space it will work fine. In my situation, I would pay the extra money for the name brand.
