We tried some of the other charcoal filters to reduce the cost, but they were simply not effective. The rotten food smell permeated the spaces within 2 weeks (2-3 uses per week). But the original lomi charcoal filters do hold off the stench for a couple of months. I wish they would lower the price. This most recent purchase with taxes pushed it up close to $60.00!

Ordered the replacements and they came in a day. I love my Lomi, I run it pretty much every 2 days and I created so much compost this year I had enough to do my gardens, flower pots, enrich my lawn and have lots to share with neighbours.

I absolutely love my Lomi! I can use all food scraps including food that has spoiled and even small bones. I basically have no garbage, just clean trash. I even take home restaurant leftovers that I won’t eat and toss them in my Lomi. I use the 5 hour setting and usually use about 3 quarts of food scraps. After just a few hours I have about a quart of beautiful, peat moss like, fragrant, dry compost. I can even add some paper and pieces of cardboard. The 5 hour cycle costs about 12 cents per cycle. I use it about twice per week and in about 6 weeks I got 8.5 lbs which I put in my garden. This is the easiest and most effective method of composting I’ve ever used. I won’t ever be able to do without it. It’s very sturdy and easy to use. I find it too big for my kitchen counter but it’s perfect in my basement. I wash it with soap and water after each use even though it looks clean. If I don’t wash it, it eventually gets a hard, difficult to remove residue.

Easy to use. Took a little bit of time to get into it. The lid is awkward and it is larger than it looks.But very modern looking and efficient.

I have a Lomi and I get these to replace the filters and have tablets for the machine. I change the filter section twice a year and use the tablets with each load I put in Lomi. My two issues is I wish I could get each of these separately as I need one before they other. Also, I find the kit, is very expensive.

Came on time and is exactly what is listed. Love my Lomi composter. Composting in my small rowhouse yard isn't plausible as it attracts rodents way too close to my home! Lomi breaks down my food waste which I put into a bin outside. No rotting food to attract unwanted visitors. Mixing it with other organic material and soil makes for great plant and flower beds!

I love Lomi more than I expected!I tried to do a traditional compost several times and never succeed in the Montreal apartment. With Lomi no stress, I can create my own compost and extra ones I am sharing with my friends who grow plants.The best part is my daughter knows what goes into Lomi, what goes to the city compost, and no more stinky compost smell in the apartment!Simple design and so easy to use, I highly recommend this item.

The Filters came before the Lomi Composter, I would have prefer all to come together. Not much I can do with the filters without the composter.
