A little strange putting it on but once you do it works just as it should. After doing the extra ring needed to attach the actual hood, taking it off and on or reversing it for storage is as easy as any other hood.

The lens hood fit perfectly. I am sad that Canon does not provide hoods for these smaller lenses, but glad to find them on Amazon. Since I have confidence in the Amazon return procedures, I felt better about ordering this knowing that if there were ANY issues, I could easily return it.

Bought this one cuz I was very happy with their hood for the RF 35mm f1.8. A little better quality than the 35mm, fits very nicely, stiffer material. Definitely recommend!

This hood is perfect for the Canon lens as it has the right tabs the fit the lens. It is just a hood as for features. Etc I do no know anything about any a hood may have.

Honestly, this should have come with the lens. The lens doesn't flare that much, but it's such a compact little 50mm (it has a tiny, dinky little 43mm lens cap) and adding the lens hood makes it aesthetically look a lot more proportional to a camera. Highly recommended.

I've purchased quite a few JJC lens hoods for my 'arsenal' of Canon RF lenses. I don't think the light and glare can tell the difference between the JJC model and the Canon model lens hood but I can in the price. The JJC hoods always fit properly and function smoothly. I realize there are those that say "It doesn't say CANON so it's no good". I don't sit and read brand names, I shoot photos and have fun. Thanks JJC

I wish it was made to take on and off a lot easier. The separate ring uou need for the hood makes it a pain to use if you shoot outdoors because you will definitely need to buy a separate filter of any sort just for the one lens. Step down rings won’t work with the ring attached.

JJC does it again, this lens hood fits the RF 50mm perfectly. No creaks no struggle to put it on just simple and fluid twist and click and you’re set to go. This lens hood also has a button on the side to easily remove and store which I wasn’t aware of when I bough it but it’s definitely a necessity for me from now on. one of the best lens hoods I’ve had in a very long time at a great price as well.
