This stuff is great. The instructions said it wasn't necessary to wash the DE off my quads but I spent ten minutes cleaning them anyway. If you don't want to wash the DE off your filter elements, well, don't. I poured the contents into a cleaned, good size trash can and filled it full of water, I put all four of my filter elements in for 24 hours, turned them over and left them for another day. They looked as clean as new.

Does a great job removing the film and discoloration on the filter pleats. I usually soak overnight.

I have purchased this many times and this cleaner does an exceptional job cleaning our hot tub filter. Our hot tub dealer does not sell this brand but a friend told me about it so I order it from Amazon. I pour the specified amount in a contractor bucket with the indicated amount of water and let the filter soak overnight and voila- next morning sparkling filter. Just rinse the filter off with a hose. I get 2 cleanings out of each bottle. We have a spare filter so one can be in the hot tub while the other is getting cleaned. Highly recommend.

My filter is three years old and this was the first time I used any commercial product to clean it. All I’ve ever done is jet rinse whenever it was necessary to take apart the filter to clean it. It’s not easy. But when the pressure remains high after jet cleaning, I had to find a way to better clean the filter. Research. Found this product, read the reviews. Ordered. Received. Followed directions, 1/2 bottle in 4 gallons of water. I used a 5-gallon bucket. I pre-rinsed the filter fingers before putting the filter in the bucket and left overnight as was recommended. I gave this product a lot of respect after reading the ingredients. I used chemical gloves and eye protection glasses, long sleeve shirt, jeans and my yard duck shoes. Next day, filter fingers looked bleach white. Took my time rinsing the filter until no more suds came out, then turned on the jet setting for any residual product left after the initial rinse. A few minutes to dry in the summer sun before reassembling the filter. So far, I’m really happy. Time will tell if the filter works “as new”.I was reticent to discard the product after one use, so back to the reviews I went. Found ONE person who THANKFULLY mentioned the product can be reused several times. Wouldn’t it be great if true? It just seemed to me a huge waste to discard the whole bucket. There MUST be other uses for this stuff.IF YOU HAVE SUGGESTIONS, it would be a public service.Overall, great stuff.

After trying a couple other brands, I've come back to this LeisureTime cartridge cleaner. It works. One hint: I use a large (40 gal?) plastic trashcan and soak my cartridges in the cleaner + water solution for about 20 minutes before rinsing. I can soak all 4 cartridges at once and allows the cleaner to really work at releasing the caked-on silt/sludge that sticks to the pleats. Also, for rinsing: I found the blue and yellow "comb" style cartridge cleaners to be very poorly made. I went through two of them (both developed cracks and leaks in the MAIN BODY of the unit!) before switching to the orange and grey "jet style" cleaner. Just search for "wand cartridge cleaner" on Amazon and you'll see them for around $15.This cleaner, combined with the hose wand for rinsing, create a good solution. Just be patient to rinse out each cartridge thoroughly; spend time to clean and rinse the full length of each individual pleat. This is a MUST. If you don't thoroughly rinse the cartridges you'll have murky (soapy) pool water for days (trust me, I know). And if you don't spend the time to clean the dirt, silt and grime from each individual pleat then you'll be doing this again in a few months (again, I know).

Cleans well but too expensive in comparison to the same kind of product @ canadian tire.
