How to Determine the Right Replacement Cartridge for Your Pool or Spa?
Already have the part number? Simply input the filter cartridge's part number or its replacement number into the search bar on our product page to verify compatibility.
Unsure of the part number? Selecting the appropriate cartridge can be achieved by assessing your current one. Follow these steps:
1. Gauge the cartridge's external diameter, ensuring accuracy to within +/- 1/16 inch.
2. Measure the cartridge's length from one end cap to the other, excluding any protruding handles or extensions, to within +/- 1/16 inch.
3. Determine the top and bottom type. If they're open, measure the inner diameter of the opening to within +/- 1/16 inch. For closed end caps, jot down distinct features (e.g., "Handle", "Cone").
4. Note down the filter's manufacturer and model number where the new cartridge will be placed.
5. Check if there's a central core (like a PVC pipe) present.

Update: End of pool season up north and I pulled these out of the Hayward pump filter system. After initial install, pressure never increased to 10 psi over the original setting so I left them in all season (since June). Pool stayed clean and clear the entire season with only adding chlorine tablets and the occasional shock treatment once a month. I ran the pump rough four hours a day total. When I finally pulled them, the filters were dirty but not bad at all. Took me a couple of hours to fully flush all four using a garden hose and standard spray gun. Filters look good (nearly new) and ready to go for next season. I’ll probably do a chemical clean to get the embedded dirt between the pleats, but overall, very happy with these filters.Original review (June 9): Bought these to replace some older, worn out Filbur filters. These were the exact same size and seemed very sturdy. Overnight, my pool went from cloudy to clear! The filters did a great job after the worn out Filburs couldn’t do the same in the course of three days of constant running. Not sure if these will last or 3 to 5 years as advertised, but for the past several months, they’ve been working great.

These are great filter to replace the Hayward factory ones. So far no issues. Installed perfect and pool is cleaner now than ever. Will update if anything changes. Great filter and value. These are more robust than the original ones and I expect to get more life out of them.

I just finished installing a four pack of these in a C4030 housing and they fit perfectly. They seemed to be well put together and the initial pressure reading was exactly where it should have been. Packaging was fine and there was no damage during shipment.Another reviewer mentioned that these filters have an internal support structure down inside the central tube, and in fact these had two, one at the center and one near the bottom. Pleatco, which was the brand of filters I was replacing, had one support structure at the center. I don't recall if Hayward filters have that but I think it's very important. There is another popular brand of similar filters sold on Amazon, and in the reviews there are pictures of filters that appear to have imploded near the center. I don't know this for sure but it wouldn't surprise me that those filters don't have this internal support because I don't see how that could have happened otherwise. Regardless, I will keep an eye on these and clean them regularly but so far it looks like a great replacement for the far more expensive OEM filters.Update after first cleaning:I just finished the first cleaning of the filters and the housing. Pressures had risen from 24 to 26 PSI, which isn't much but it had been 13 months so I figured I better check them out. One thing this company advertised was ease of cleaning and I can certainly vouch for that now. I used a low-end pressure washer with a wide fan spray nozzle, and was very careful not to damage the media. It took maybe an hour to clean all four filters to almost new condition, as opposed to 2 hours with every other filter I've ever had. It was a job I never looked forward to but these were not bad at all. They were certainly dirty, with a substantial amount of mud and detritus. The filter end caps were somewhat discolored but not degraded in any way. After getting everything back together and reassembled the pressure was about what it had been when they were new, maybe a little higher but not much. The water was somewhat cloudy for a couple of days but I added a measured amount of HTH clarifier and that took care of it. So with all that said I stand by my original review and expect that these will last at least 5 years if not longer.
