I put these into my freshly scrubbed and filled hot tub, balanced the chemicals as usual - fine. Over the next few weeks I checked and rebalanced twice a week as usual, but still was getting more foam and film than usual, but I chalked it up to some other wonkiness, sometimes things are fussy. However when I went to check and balance again yesterday, I had a visible film on the water and there was a significant scum line, despite perfect levels of everything in the tub. This tub was refilled less than a month ago. I have *never* had this with my Bullfrog. Throwing these out and putting back my two year old filters until the twice as expensive but wildly more effective new brand name filters arrive. Lesson learned: don’t skimp on filters. These managed to filter out only the biggest things, but honestly not even fantastic at that (lots of random bits of leaves still visible, no matter how many times I scoop with the net - doesn’t happen with my old filters). The film though? That should never happen with clean, balanced water and brand new filters. These are a complete waste of money.

These work great, their cost-effective, they keep the water well cleaned, and they have a good long life to themIt’s definitely beats paying triple the price for a bull frog product

Compared to the original bullfrog filters they are lacking about a third more filtering capabilities. That being said the lower cost outweighs the diminished filtering. Bullfrog filters are three times as much as this brand and haven't seen any difference in the water quality. Overall I would buy again because of the cost.
