I am impressed. I tested this out by measuring my garage (I know; a simple task but a good test run for this tool). I need to calculate the square footage so I can blow insulation into the garage attic. Although I could have simply pulled out my tape measure and calculator, this gadget did exactly what it is supposed to do: double simplify an already simple task. My garage is packed full of stuff and it would have been a bit difficult to find a clear place take the measurement from wall to wall. With this laser measure, I stood against the wall in one clear space and shot the laser across all the stuff on the floor and hit the wall for an instant measurement. I had the instrument in the mode that automatically calculates area, so it was immediately ready for the second measurement. I changed walls, took another reading and quickly had the square footage on the screen. EXCELLENT! My biggest complaint is that I have not had this technology in my hands for all these years. I know, I am late to the game, but that doesn't negate the fact this is a great piece of equipment to own. Functionally, the screen was easy to read and the calculation agreed the manual tape measure process.

Excellent purchase! It has good precision, I was surprised that it comes with a protector to protect the equipment. It has 2 ways of adding the measurement from the tip or from the bottom of the equipment, so you have to read the manual. Very pleased and happy with my purchase! I recommend it.

As a drywall contractor, it's a pain to measure homes, especially larger ones, with tape measure. This is always accurate, it has many abilities such as measure length, areas, triangles, etc. Makes me look more professional and honestly, saves me way more time. Great product.

This SG SURGOAL brand “Laser Measure High Accuracy 196/328ft Digital Laser Distance Meter” is a. Set capable measuring device. I was just hoping it would be accurate enough for rough carpentry, home and yard type things and not have any major inconveniences but based on initial review and testing it’s actually a quality piece of equipment with all sorts of options and ways of figuring things like elevation and area measurements in addition to just A-B distance.The build is nice, the tool doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap in hand and the rubber grippy sides both feel good and should prevent some drops.The only real drawback I’ve seen so far is that it is nearly impossible to do outdoor measurements, and there is an outdoor version I just did not scroll down far enough to see the other model. With this model you might get a measurement but you’ll likely have no idea where you’re measuring. I was trying to measure from my driveway to my mailbox right before the sun rose this morning and at only 30ft I got the measure but it would not be a functional intended use at all.I’m a big fan that you can choose whether to measure from the front or back of the device. The additional features are just icing on the cake but unnecessary for my common uses that I’m aware of, although when capabilities expand so often do creative applications.For no more price difference than there is I’d really consider the outdoor version, but if you have no need for that this model saves a few bucks, seems to be great at what it does, and is quick enough to pick up basic functions after a few minutes with the manual.I removed the shipping cardboard insert from the product box and will be using it for storage to keep it less dusty between uses, it’s nice the box is clearly labeled so it’s easily recognizable on a shelf without labeling. This way I can keep the manual with it for quick reference.Quality tool at an affordable cost.5 stars for its stated purposes.

I thought, based on the cost for this Laser Distance Measure, it would be low quality and good enough. I was wrong.This is a professional grade, quite accurate, laser tape measure. It is solid and hefty for its size.My intended purpose would be primarily for outside use. I wanted to measure distance for irrigation lines, the length of wire needed for a lamp pole light to the disconnect, diy, home use etc.There is so much information that this laser tape can record, calculate, and provide. conversions, volume, pythagorean theorem, square footage and moreI placed the laser tape along side a tape measure at 18 feet. With the back of the laser tape at 18 feet it measured 18 ft .389 inches. .389 equals 4.66 inches, which is nearly 4 and 3/4 inches on the tape measure, which is the length of the laser tape measure itself.In bright sun the laser is basically useless. The red dot is a fine pin prick. It states, in the comments, that deviation occurs in bright sunlight.As a work around I tried the laser light outside as the sun was setting and I was able to locate the dot and get a reading at 76 feet, so that's a good work around for the sunlight issue. I also found that pointing the laser at a white background, which was my garage door, worked best.My only issue with laser tape, is the case. The lens needs to be clean. The directions point out. Do not wipe the lens with your finger or anything abrasive, but the case is open on the sides, which is going to allow dirt to contaminate the lense.With all the functions the laser tape is capable of you will need to have the directions available, so a fully enclosed case to put the distance measuring tape and the directions in, would have been nice.The white plastic body on the front and back makes it easy to find if you lay it down.Again, bright sun and the case, not great.You'll also have to do the math to convert a factional reading to inches, just multiply by 12.All other applications 5 starsGreat value for the cost.
